Reflection Eternal - Ballad Of The Black Gold [Video]

Video for Reflection Eternal’s Ballad Of The Black Gold from their acclaimed Revolutions Per Minute.

Visuals really help drill home (see what I did there?) the meaning behind the lyrics. A topic not usually tackled by hip-hop artists: oil conglomerates.

Most blogs won’t be bothered to do this. But we love you as much as you love us remember. Audio here.

Fly Gypsy-FG*XL:remixtape Review and Download

As you well know by now, I don’t write album/mixtape reviews or feature articles unless it’s something very worthwhile. It’s a lot of time and dedication for me, so you know there’s a damn good reason behind it right? Right.

OTU followers will be familiar with this duo (and all you newcomers need to get educated, fast). We’ve followed them for quite some time, and they’ve really stepped their game up in the last 2/3 months with this remix project. If you’ve missed any of the utterly awesome remixes they’ve put out, click on to find the links for recapping.

Anywho, it’s time to unleash the entire project. 18 tracks of fantastic music from an unbelievable (you’ll agree, trust me!) range of genres that will cement these guys as ones to watch for 2010. If you don’t have time for the review, you can download the mixtape here. If you do, click on.

Reflection Eternal and Estelle

Quick one from me as I’m in the midst of writing a massive R&B Friday. Unexpected collabo, but it could end up working pretty well. From the upcoming RE album, due May 8th.

Reflection Eternal-In This World

This actually leaked a couple of days ago, but I was told the video would be dropped soon so I thought I’d post them together. However, I found out that ‘soon’ equates to Sunday, which is too long to leave you guys out the loop.

Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek’s project gets better and better, and this track is evidence of that. Pretty nice Hi-Tek beat, and Talib does what he does best over it. One for the fans of good hip-hop.

Reflection Eternal-The RE:Union

If you don’t download this mixtape, you’ve got very bad mental issues. Some of you will remember the collabo I posted involving these guys, Mos Def, Jay Elec and J.Cole, and this would be the full mixtape. I was going to post the proper version of that collabo earlier this week, but instead I thought I’d hold out for the mixtape and make sure you all downloaded it!

Features on this include those above, plus Ghostface Killah, Common, Nas and many more. This has some older tracks on it too, from previous albums and works that these guys have done which are definitely worth grabbing. A must-have for anyone even pretending to be a hip-hop fan. Tracklist can be found after the click for those interested, or you can just grab the download below.
