P.O.S - We Don't Even Live Here [Album Review]

P.O.S’ brand new album came out yesterday and ever since seeing the superb video for F*** Your Stuff I’ve been really looking forward to this date. OK, so I may have heard this album a few weeks early for the purpose of reviewing it (thanks to the good folks at Division Media), but the point remains.

The fact that a guy like me can stay interested in an album after more than a few weeks of listening to it, in this current musical climate (I personally think it’s been a rather poor year for music), is a testament to the quality of this album. So, click on below to read my thoughts on We Don’t Even Live Here, and to find out more about P.O.S.

P.O.S - F*ck Your Stuff [Video]

I wasn’t really familiar with P.O.S until recently, but everything I’ve heard so far I’m liking a hell of a lot! This anti-capitalist track has P.O.S talking about how much he doesn’t want your stuff, materialism is not a part of his nature. The video has him and his peeps smash up the concept of material goods (literally). Nice touch with all brands being blurred out in the vid too! If you like this, you should definitely check him out performing another single of his, Bumper.

Out November 05 on Rhymesayers Entertainment, ‘We Don’t Even Live Here’ is the fourth solo album from Doomtree co-founder, punk philosopher and lyrical bomb-thrower Stefon Alexander, aka P.O.S. It’s a tight, bombastic record that builds on the Minneapolis-bred rapper and producer’s penchant for grinding beats and radical lyrics. But at the same time, WDELH marks a change — in sound and in attitude.

P.O.S. - Drumroll (We're All Thirsty)

Seems like Ajay and myself are engaging in some posting competition of some sorts today.

So, as we’re doing favourites of ’09, this is my favourite video of ’09.

You might have seen my Dessa post a few evenings ago. Well, P.O.S. is the founding member and face of Doomtree. This track is an absolute banger and P.O.S. switches his style up to great effect coming in real hard on an energetic, drum-crazed backdrop. The video is awesome too and check out for the spooky ending. Genius.
