BET Hip-Hop Awards 2012: The Cyphers

As per every year, the only thing we check the BET Awards for is these excellent ciphers, and this year is no different.

The 2012 edition brings you some utterly superb lineups, with the clip up here being a personal highlight as it features several of my favourite upcomers-A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, Childish Gambino and Angel Haze, alongside newcomer Driicky Graham. The rest of the ciphers feature the likes of T.I., B.o.B., Talib Kweli, Jean Grae, DMX, Eve, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Kurupt, DJ Quik, Xzibit, Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Hopsin and more.

Plenty of promise, click on below to check out all of the ciphers. Who do you reckon had the standout performance? Big fan of Joey Bada$$ with the cipher up here, and my winners for the rest are below.

Lloyd and Mystikal-Set Me Free Video

Quite a while since we’ve heard from Lloyd, and even longer since we’ve had a video from him. Not a bad one either, and it’s reinvigorated my interest in this track. I never really gave the production on this the credit it deserved, and it’s got some potential as a pretty nice summer jam.

Audio is available here if you missed it a while back.

Final Version Of Lloyd and Mystikal Collab, Set Me Free

As above, this is the final version of their collab. I liked this track when it initially leaked, and this version has a couple of little additions/quality improvements which make it worth getting if you enjoyed the original.

Keep an eye out for today’s R&B Friday, it’s going to be absolutely packed.

R&B Fridays: Episode 40

40 episodes. Wow.

Click on for a 21-track barrage of music, including new music from Lloyd, Jagged Edge, Cheryl Cole and a stunner from R. Kelly. Before you do all that, make sure you check out the R&B Throwback I dropped earlier this week from Sterling Simms. Done that? Good.

FYI, Megan Fox has absolutely nothing to do with this episode. She just came for the 40th episode celebrations.
