Kid Cudi-Indicud Artwork and Tracklist

indicud
Those who have watched his recent videos will be familiar with Cudi’s glamorous framing, a visual style he’s applied to his artwork here. The centrepiece of the artwork is certainly unique, with the explosiveness potentially representing Cudi pressing the reset button on his work, to some extent, or is quite simply just a massive fireball thrown in for a striking visual impact. It’s probably both, though the title of the opening track would probably suggest a lean to the former.

In any case, it’s definitely original enough to turn some heads on shop shelves (excuse me HMV, people still buy CDs right?). Whilst the artwork might be somewhat ambiguous, the tracklist is not: the features are incredibly diverse, with a collection of well-known and unexpected acts representing a multitude of genres, whilst there are several tracks many expected to be included (such as the three solo efforts he’s released most recently), along with some nice continuations of his Man on the Moon theme. Check it out below, and look out for the LP’s release on 23rd April (probably the 22nd over here).

The Lonely Island and Michael Bolton-Jack Sparrow Video

If the fact MICHAEL BOLTON is on the feature hasn’t already got you in stitches, the video most definitely will.

TLI are at their best here, with that ‘serious’, almost deadpan humour that makes some of their videos hilarious to watch being in full force. However, Michael Bolton is the true star with his overblown emotion on the hook and adlibs, poking a little fun at himself and generally being massively hilarious. That’s certainly helped by his vocals/lyrics being entirely unrelated to the verses, a fact that isn’t lost on TLI who respond with some humorous adlibs of their own. Aside from the unnecessarily dramatic sea sequences and the self-parodying club scenes, the video ends on an equally ludicrous note, with Michael Bolton assuming the role of…Tony Montana.

This is a video/song that definitely ranks up there with their best to date, and is a must-watch if you’re after a good laugh!

R&B Fridays: Episode 36

I got quite lucky with this week’s episode. I’d hoped to throw in a couple of older tracks that I revisited/reloved this week, and thankfully there hasn’t been a huge glut of material released this week to overshadow that. Don’t panic: Naturally, there is still a load of new stuff. I usually try to sneak in some older tracks when I can (dedicated followers will attest to this), I’m just extra keen this week.

New stuff from Jason Derulo, Usher and more after the click. Before you do though, be sure to check out The-Dream’s newest track which was dropped yesterday.
