Snowgoons-The Legacy ft. Esoteric, Ill Bill, Reks, Reef The Lost Cauze & more

Another drop from the Snowgoons’ Dynasty album, and although it’s not a proper video, it does contain the audio and that’s the main thing!

Expect classic ‘Goons’ production here with a huge and impressive group of features. Continuing in the same vein as the previous leaks, The Legacy showcases the long list of contacts that Snowgoons can call on upon for a favour, and it results in another hard-hitting track that has me looking forward to their most ambitious effort yet.

Featuring: Esoteric, Ill Bill, Godilla, Fredro Starr (of Onyx), Sicknature, Punchline,
Reks, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Planetary (of Outerspace), Virtuoso, Maylay Sparks, Swann, Sav Killz, M-Dot & Reef The Lost Cauze

East Coast Avengers-Man Made Ways

I don’t care if me and Chunter (makes me chuckle every time) are the only people who read this blog to care about the next few lines I’m about to write.

East Coast Avengers have a new LP coming! Educate yourselves about ECA here. Their 2008 release is a lyrical and production masterpiece and I expect big things from them this time around on East Coast Avengers Present: DC The MIDI Alien Avengers Airwaves dropping 15th Feb. Joining Esoteric and Trademarc’s razor-sharp lyricism will be underground heavies: Vinnie Paz, Slaine, Blaq Poet, Termanology, Big Shug, Jon Hope, REKS, Reef The Lost Cauze, Outerspace, Akir and many more.

7L & Esoteric / Inspectah Deck-12th Chamber

My favourite joint from the duo’s 1212 album.

The beat is driven by a violin-inspired orchestra whilst accompanied by soothing feminine vocals setting the mic up for Deck and Esoteric to beat down. Esoteric really goes off here. He’s one of the very few MC’s whose flow has the ability to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

7L and Esoteric, Alchemist and Evidence-Drawbar 1-2 (+Album Info)

Great stuff. A line-up to get those hip-hop heads drooling, this track brings together some of the finest to great effect. The production is pretty decent, with a carnival-esque melody providing a slightly creepy, slightly jovial backdrop that allows the rappers to take the track and move it nicely into the lyrical directions.

Grab the track below, and click on further to see the tracklist for the upcoming 7LES album 1212 (check it out, some of the features are great). Album artwork is the picture included in this post.

7L & Esoteric - No Shots

If you like hip-hop, you really should be familiar with the underground duo of producer 7L and Army Of The Pharaohs’ MC, Esoteric.

First leak from their album 1212 which drops October 12th. Here Esoteric spits some rhymes on his thoughts of the current industry over 7L’s Rihanna-sampling instrumentals.

1212 boasts features from the likes of Ill Bill, Alchemist, Evidence, Inspectah Deck, Sadat X, Vinnie Paz, Celph Titled, Statik Selektah and OTU favourite Reef The Lost Cauze.

Murray’s Best of ’09

So I think we are all in agreement: 2009 has been quite a year for hip-hop. It has seen the return of Em, Jay has completed his Blueprint trilogy and 50 has had so much beef you would think he will be full up for Xmas (*cringes*. Yeah that was bad).

Aside from the big names dropping their albums, we have also seen some highly anticipated underground acts dropping LP’s too. This is my Best Of ’09 list and contains some real gems so don’t let the year go past before getting your hands on these.

Underground Hip-Hop Part 7

A clearout of the inbox and BOOM: It throws up another UGHH for the hip-hop heads to enjoy.

This one is (mostly) full of artists who haven’t been featured on the site before, so amidst all the mainstream music that’s been up recently, we’ve gone so underground that you’re gonna need some sort of torch.
