Kidz In The Hall-Wishful Drinking EP

wishfuldrinking
It’s been years since we heard from this duo, quite literally, as this is their first joint project in around 2 years. Whilst Naledge and Double O have been doing some solid work as solo artists, there’s no denying they’re way better together: their 2008 album The In Crowd was the soundtrack of my summer that year, and whilst the follow-up didn’t quite reach the same heights, there’s no denying they’ve got enough ability and chemistry to deliver the goods once again.

6 tracks on this unexpected EP, with the sole feature being Yonas Michael, and that should be plenty to get old fans reacquainted with the duo, and just enough to give the newcomers a little taste of their work. Fingers crossed that this ends up being another strong release from the duo. You can stream the EP here, or head straight to iTunes and grab the entire project.

Kidz In The Hall, One Chance and Tabi Bonney-Star

Pretty big fan of all of the acts involved here, and the synergy of them all is very successful. We’re treated to a very uplifting, motivating and upbeat track that brings the best out of all involved.

Double-O’s one of the more underrated producers in the game, and here he serves up a bouncy production that oozes a summery, celebratory feel. Tabi and Naledge brings some very solid rhymes, seemingly enjoying their position as stars in the hip-hop game, and having no problems in articulating that throughout their bars. One Chance round things off with a decent hook that blends very well with the production, playing off the aforementioned uplifting quality nicely.

The video here seems to be just a teaser, and hopefully we’ll get a full video soon. There’s a lot they could do with this track, and hopefully we’ll see something good come of it. Audio can be grabbed here.

John Regan-Sorry I'm Late [Album]

This is the debut solo album release from 24-year old Baltimore born emcee John Regan. It features the likes of Marsha Ambrosius, Joell Ortiz, Skyzoo, Sha Stimuli (you can grab that collab here), Needlz, Nottz, 88-Keys, PackFM, Ill Bill, Juganot, Kidz in the Hall, Jaiden and more. Certainly an eye-catching lineup for an underground artist such as Regan, and gives you an idea that the album is going to be something worth taking note of.

I’ve only managed to give it a quick listen, but it certainly does impress and comes across as an album that you’d expect from a far more established artist, which is a credit to the talent Regan clearly has. The album describes his struggles at trying to make it in the hip-hop game, whilst having to balance a family life at the same time. It’s available for purchase on iTunes/Amazon now, but before you take the plunge, you can listen to the full album for free here (My favourite track has to be the superb All I Got To Give).

Naledge (of Kidz in the Hall)-Twenty Something Mixtape

Naledge comes through with a new project, which I believe was only announced a few days ago (at least in my world!). I’ve always appreciated this guy’s skills, and he’s definitely one of the stronger ‘backpack rappers’, especially as he has the ability to break out of that category from time-to-time.

R&B Fridays: Episode 59

Busy, busy day to blame for the delay on this. That, and the fact I forgot I do these. Woops. Anywho, I’ve more than made up for it by throwing in some massive names this week, including  Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Johnta Austin and many more. Enough delaying, click below and get stuck into the good stuff.

Kidz In The Hall-Grizzly Man Video

Video has dropped for KITH’s Grizzly Bear remix. Haven’t watched it yet, but I like the track (can be found here) and I love the original Grizzly Bear version regardless.

Kidz In The Hall, Just Blaze and Colin Munroe Collab-Must Have!

Absolutely superb collaboration. Colin Munroe slays this hook, and Naledge drops some dope verses. The beat is a really good one too, and the overall uplifting and motivational feel of this track is definitely a likeable one. Just Blaze is credited with a feature on this track as his ‘alter ego’ Red 5ive, although it sounds like he’s only on backing vocals. Works for me though as he’s also a co-producer on it, and having Just on production in any capacity is always a good thing.

This is an all-rounder that will definitely suit a wide variety of tastes. Could be a really big hit too, if given the right promo, and gives me high hopes for the upcoming album.

Kidz In The Hall, 88-Keys, Izza Kizza & Donnis Collab

That is not just a list of dope upcomers, but is actually the line-up for the Crowd Control Tour going down in the US. To commemorate that, they’ve dropped a posse cut for us all to enjoy. I’ve only given it a brief listen so far, but it sounded really good and had a nice energy about it. All these guys can spit too, so I don’t expect the verses to be lacking either.

Kidz In The Hall-Land of Make Believe

Everyone knows I’m a big fan of this heavily underrated duo, and I can’t wait for this album to drop. The picture here is the official album artwork for the upcoming album, and after the click is the tracklist (with some nice features as per The In Crowd) and a little info on the album.

New Kidz In The Hall Single

kidztop
I’m a day or so late on this, but busy times recently. New music from Kidz In The Hall, sampling Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks. It just so happens to be one of my favourite tracks from their Veckatimest album (those of you with sharp eyes will have spotted that in my rotation recently).

Mix one of my favourite alternative tracks of recent times with one of my favourite hip-hop duos and we’ve got a surefire winner.

Kidz In The Hall-Jukebox

I love these guys. Their debut album, The In Crowd, was absolutely superb and if you don’t know much about them, I’d recommend fans of rappers such as The Cool Kids, Mickey Factz and Wale to check them out.
