Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me ft. Big Sean [Video]

I’m a few weeks late on this video dropping, but given that I’ve barely posted at all in the last four months I’m sure you’ll forgive me.

One thing I enjoy doing when making a trip to the other side of the Atlantic is listening to what’s playing on their radio stations, and this is a track that was under heavy rotation. After several listens and wondering who this mystery R&B singer was, I was shocked to be informed that it was in fact a Justin Bieber song! We don’t often post his stuff on this site, but if Big Sean can lend him some credibility and deliver a solid verse, then I can give him a chance too.

As for this song, it really does remind me of Justin Timberlake, in the same way he revamped his image after dropping My Love all those years ago, Bieber appears to be doing the exact same here (more of this please!). I dare you to listen to this song and not enjoy it, dare you.

R&B Fridays: Episode 88

A few interesting remixes this week, with over a third of this week’s tracks being of the remix variety. Other great tracks in there too, making this an R&B Friday that you’ll forgive for being a little late to the party.

Unlike recent weeks, there’s a pretty big recap on this week’s notable R&B/pop events: Yasmin previewed her new single, Tank came through with a new video, Timbaland’s #TimboThursdays rolled on, Trey Songz released the Love Faces video,  Miguel and Gilbere Forte combined for a fantastic effort, Diddy’s Dirty Money trio released an official mixtape, last week’s notable Grammy performances, Bruno Mars’ Grenade getting the Lil’ Wayne remix, and finally Erin Christine’s fantastic performance of Naked. All worth checking out, and more worth your time after the click below.

Trailer For The Upcoming Justin Bieber Film (Movie)

Great. You have to respect the business acumen of whoever is managing this kid: bringing out a film is the perfect move to capitalise on his audience before they grow up and turn emo.

As terrible as this will be, at least it will keep everyone under 16 off the streets for at least 2 hours. It may however result in the rest of us rioting, smashing windows, and tipping cows as we get stuck with insufferable fans getting giddy about it on Facebook, Twitter and so on.

Crime doesn’t pay kids.

Final Version of Bieber x Raekwon x Kanye West

The tagged up version was posted a few hours ago, and the final version has been let loose by Kanye. Comes with artwork too, hence I felt this was deserving of a new post.

One thing that has to be said, despite my previous insistence on not reviewing the track: Kanye’s done a great job with this beat. It’s a bit of a shame it was used for a Justin Bieber collab (no offense, it’s just a beat better suited for a real hip-hop track). As I said before, this track will definitely intrigue almost every visitor of this site so click below and prepare to listen to the Wu-Tang and Justin Bieber together

Justin Bieber, Raekwon and Kanye West-Runaway Love

So it’s finally here. Probably the most anticipated arrival since the aliens landed, the power of Twitter takes its final, controversial and confusing shape in the form of this song.

I think everyone who visits this site has some form of curiosity about this song, whether its musical or morbid, so I’m not going to pointlessly influence you with my opinion on this. Click below and marvel at how crazy this industry is. It has minor tags, so keep it locked for the final version as and when its let loose. Update: That would be now. Click here for the final version and artwork.

Twitter: A Hip-Hop Revolution

There are some things in life you come to expect. Your mum doing your washing, prolonged rain spells, Christmas on the 25th December, Raekwon sending out a tweet. Wait. What? Yes people, it would be strange for me to visit my Twitter and there be no daily/hourly/minutely (believe me, some do it *cough* Noreaga) tweet from at least one of the many hip-hop artists I happen to follow.

Since the 140 character micro-blogging phenomenon stormed the Internet in 2006, a wide range of celebrities have been using the social networking site with popular persons such as Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears amongst some of the first to join in the Twittermania. But it’s not only film and (one-time) pop stars who took to Twitter. MC Hammer held the hip-hop Twitter-torch for a while all on his own before others started to see the value that it brought in promoting their work and connecting with fans.

R&B Fridays: Episode 50

Many of your Fridays have been centered around this OTU institution, and I’m glad to deliver this 50th episode of the hugely popular series. I’ve enjoyed writing it as much as you have reading it.

Before you see what’s in store this week, I’ve actually sprinkled a lot of R&B in other posts this week to build up some R&B love prior to this episode that you should check for. First off, go here for Ne-Yo’s new single. After that, check out the final version of Alicia Keys’ Rapture, Estelle’s latest single, a superb track from The-Dream, amongst other R&B-influenced tracks that have been posted.

Done all that? Good on you. Time to get the rest!

R&B Fridays: Episode 49 (Also, My 1000th Post!)

49 episodes in, and the fantastic material still keeps coming. The common theme of recent weeks has been a frightening consistency in the quality, as we’ve seen some superb R&B tracks being let loose in anticipation of the summer. Whereas previous R&B Fridays have been a bit of a struggle to fill/review, the past few weeks have certainly made my (busy) life a lot easier!

This week is no different, and you’ve got some very good stuff to look forward to in your immediate future from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Amerie and many more. Not as many lesser-known names as there usually are, instead we’ve got the more established names looking to make their mark. Click on to let them know if they got it right.

Edit: This is my 1000th post on this site, on the eve of my final University exam. Celebrations aplenty!

Why Is Justin Bieber Creeping Into Hip-Hop?! WHO IS LETTING THIS HAPPEN.

Hip-hop artist Lee Bannon has but together a ‘Bieber Beat Tape’, after ‘joking about it on Twitter, and then recieving a load of requests to really do it’.

After the hardcore rapping that was the Westwood freestyle (…), we now get this. Aziz Ansari was right about the Bieb, he’s pretty much a massive gangster.

WTF IS THIS!?

Seriously, what the hell? Words fail me. Shame on you Westwood for making this happen.

Watch the vid, I don’t know whether to laugh hysterically or punch the screen.

Various Canadian Artists-Wavin’ Flag Video

Another version of K’naan’s amazing track (scroll a little further down for the World Cup version), this time with all of Canada’s young talents getting together to record a version for the Haiti earthquake.

Drake, Bieber, Avril Lavigne and many, many more appear on this and it’s a really good version that’s worth checking out. Drake’s verse near the end comes with a great message too, nice to see that.

Raaaaaaaandy’s Version Of Baby Baby

I apologise wholeheartedly for not uploading this earlier. It’s been a busy couple of days, and this audio actually came out the same day as the hilarious video of Aziz/Randy declaring war on the Bieb. Anyway, the “original” version of Baby can be found below! Naturally, this is really funny and definitely one to add to the collection.

R&B Fridays: Episode 38 Leftovers

As I alluded to on Friday, here are the tracks that I had to cut from that episode. I didn’t want to cut them as a lot of them could have made any other episode, but it was simply a time constraint and the fact that having a 30-40 track episode would have been impossible for you to read.

Click on for 14 more tracks to see you through until Friday.

Raaaaaaaandy (Aziz Ansari) Declares War On Justin Bieber

Oh my. This is absolutely ridiculous/hilarious. I’m not even going to tell you what happens, or describe it. You just have to, HAVE TO watch this.

Aziz > You.

R&B Fridays: Episode 35

Quite the range of acts once again, both in terms of popularity and age, with the boy Justin Bieber making an appearance as well as veterans Jagged Edge. Not too much range in the quality though: it’s predominantly good stuff as I’ve taken time to root out (most of) the poor stuff. Any crap stuff is just there to make the rest look better.

I’ve been listening to a lot of R&B this week, so click on to sort yourself out for the coming week.

A nice blend of mainstream and underground artists this week, and a bit of variety in the artists too with no particular artists having more than one track in this episode.

R&B Fridays: Episode 18

robin-thicke_001465_MainPicture
I could have easily put out two of these this week, so this one is rammed with tracks.
There’s a lot of content, and although not every song is amazing, a lot of it is big news and/or a big deal: an Alexandra Burke/Ne-Yo collab, a 15-year old who is better than most other R&B artists, TV stars and a lot more.

Want some? Yeah you do. Click the red line of enlightenment below.
