Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne-Home Run [Video]

Wow, almost a year ago this track first leaked and we’ve finally got the video for it! These visuals were actually shot before Lil’ Wayne went to prison, but Juelz held off on getting it out there for us as he wanted to finish his mixtape first, (we should be seeing that soon btw).

I really liked this song when it dropped; mainstream hip hop goodness. The video itself is nothing ground-breaking, we’ve seen it all before: scantily clad women, mansions, lots of money. Oh, I suppose the baseball elements are a little different to your average hip hop video.

R&B Fridays: Episode 84

No recap this week thanks to a temperamental hard drive, but R&B Fridays actually makes it out on a Friday for the second consecutive week, which is a pretty big victory.

Lots of remixes and rappers popping up this week, with some huge names coming through with some very unexpected pop and R&B remixes. More than enough original material too though, making this a very diverse episode that’ll satisfy the vast majority of you grubby little folk.

Click on and let me be the Snoop to your Cameron, though R&B/pop probably isn’t the same as marijuana…probably.

Sunday's Classic Collabo: Cam'ron/Jim Jones/Juelz Santana

After the return of Dipset earlier this week, I found myself revisiting some of their older material. As you can see from the video on the left, these guys made street hits that were mainstream enough for the clubs (in the US at least) to play.

A beat, that I was surprised wasn’t taken on by a plethora of other rappers, that will have you nodding your head until you spasm and a Juelz Santana who was really coming into his own as a heavy punchline hitting emcee, this is a track that had cemented Dipset as one of the largest ‘movements’ in hip-hop at the time. Only time will tell whether or not they can replicate that sort of following again. Grab the mp3 for this by clicking below.

Dipset....Are Back With A New Track - Salute

As teased earlier this week with a trailer, here is the first track these scallywags have made together in a good few years.

First impressions? Well the beat is absolutely crazy for a start, with Jim Jones, Cam’ron & Juelz all bringing verses filled with much bravado. Gets the thumbs up from me and I’m very interested to see what else they cook up in the future.

The Dipset 2010 Reunion

Take this as the official confirmation that the previously-feuding Dipset boys are all back together.

Will be interesting to hear some new music from them, and also gauging the response to it in a much harsher hip-hop climate than when they were last together.

Beamer, Benz Or Bentley - Supermix

It was only a matter of time before this happened – some bright spark has mixed together the several different versions of this track.

The only disappointment is that they seemed to have forgotten Budden and Royce’s verses.

Beamer, Benz Or Bentley Official Video!

It never fails to amaze me how it only takes one hot song for a rapper that seemingly had ‘fallen off’ to become so relevant in the industry again. Let’s see if Lloyd Banks can capitalise on this momentum.

Check the video out to the left, pretty standard hip hop video in all honesty, with cameos from Maino and Beanie Sigel. Definitely worth a watch, I expect this to drop on all the music channels at some point (if they have any sense).

Audio for this can be snatched from here.

Sunday's Classic Collabo: Cam'ron/Juelz Santana/Jay-Z

Having been reminiscing upon the good old Rocafella days this past week, I felt a classic collabo from their peak was in order.

Taken from Cam’ron’s most commercially successful album, Come Home with me, this collaboration with Jay-Z and Juelz Santana really set the bar for New York hip hop. With a lot of competition from the Ruff Ryders faction, as well as Queensbridge’s Nas, Mobb Deep et al, Rockafella and more crucially Jay-Z, needed more artists under its umbrella to come out of Jay-Z’s shadow.

Unfortunately the whole Dipset movement veered away from Rockafella shortly after the release of this album due to simmering tensions with Jay-Z for several reasons (a feud which we may review and analyse in our Hate Is The New Love feature at some point in the future). Peep this Just Blaze produced banger below.

Beamer, Benz or Bentley?

It’s a good question, personally – if I was rich I’d have all three.

A new track by Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana, it’s pretty decent with Juelz smashing it. With a beat definitely fitting to play in the car. Click the red text below to obtain this piece of music.

New Juelz Santana/Lil’ Wayne

These two were supposed to be doing an album together, which apparently has been finished for some time now, but because of label politics the I Can’t Feel My Face project may never see the light of day.

However thanks to the powers of the internet some of these tracks have leaked to the net, this is possibly one of those tracks. It’s pretty good, Juelz’s flow is great to this and Lil’ Wayne just on the hook makes this a good collaboration.

Mainstream Mega Post: Features Edition

gucci-spotlight-singlecover-449x449
When I found myself getting 3 Gucci Mane tracks today, I realised something: I’ve just quadrupled my number of Gucci tracks from 1 to 4. I still don’t like him, but he’s steadily becoming a very big deal in mainstream hip-hop. All 7 of the tracks in this post are feature heavy, and include appearances from Trey Songz, Diddy, Lil’ Jon and others.
