Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte fame appear to be branching out and have enlisted the services of many upcoming and established hip-hop acts for a mixtape that could end up being a half-decent listen, assuming the Maddens don’t start rapping.
It’s difficult for anyone to claim to be a true Good Charlotte fan with a straight face, but they’ve occassionally shown flashes of quality, with The River in particular being an excellent song. It is on the quality of that track I hold hope that the project might be decent, and features from the likes of The Cool Kids, Wiz Khalifa, Kreayshawn, Casey Veggies and many more are also encouraging signs that this could be worth a listen. The 12-track tape is available to both stream and download for free below.

Not a massive fan of Good Charlotte (with the exception of this unbelievably good song), but you have to commend their originality with this video as they hit the streets to get public feedback on the track in question.
The compilation of footage makes up the video, and is pretty entertaining viewing. Glad to see they didn’t just include the positive feedback, leaving in such gems as ‘they sound like young teenagers who are screwed up in the head’. Nice little advertising spots for Beats by Dre throughout too.

Looks like Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden is working on some solo material. This is pretty decent stuff too, with a light rock/alternative production embellished by claps and pop-infused background vocals to create a mainstream-ready track.
Ridiculously catchy hook on this too, which certainly helps the chances of this being a successful hit. Maino come through with a high-tempo, upbeat flow on his verse that highlights his growing versatility as a rapper: it’s the most mainstream feature I’ve heard him on, and he’s done himself justice. Surprisingly decent pop-alternative track.

Good Charlotte have a decent crack at the Blink-182 classic at one of their recent live shows. It’s by no means perfect, but the guitarists do a decent job and it’s listenable.
I’m clamouring for anything Blink right now so this will have to do I suppose.

Good Charlotte…remember them? Sure you do. An unexpected collabo, which is worth checking out. They definitely have come with a different sound on this track, a track Ludacris smashes, with the beat suiting his energy perfectly. As always – get the track below.
