Emanny - Miss Me ft. Joe Budden (SLV)

Emanny
Emanny returns just in time for the summer with this new song from his upcoming project Songs About HER 2. Enlisting fellow SLV member Joe Budden, these two once again collaborate to make a great summertime R&B track that has some very slick production.

Miss Me takes very subtle elements from Drake’s Miss Me track from his début LP, but that’s where the similarities end with Emanny making this track very much his own. Joe Budden provides a verse where Joe addresses some of the turmoil we saw from his stint on reality show Love & Hip Hop involving ex flame Tahiry, which adds some great depth to an already very well structured track.

No release date for Songs About HER 2 just yet, but I expect it to be just as well received as Emanny’s previous project. You can listen to and download Miss Me below.

Emanny ft. Joe Budden - I Messed Up [Video]

Here’s the official video to a recent collaboration between Emanny and Joe Budden (this duo have made a fair few songs together and it’s a combination I’m liking!). Not usually one for R&B but I’ve been really impressed with Emanny over the past year or so, he manages to sing about women without sounding whiny, which is a rarity.

The Joe Budden feature is pretty good too, a lot more chilled out than we’re used to from him which suits this song very well. This is a track off his mixtape, Songs About Her, which you can download for free by clicking here.

Emanny-Songs About Her

Fresh off a spate of good work as part of the Summer Leather Vest collective, Emanny comes through with a solo project that will hopefully lead to more success for him as a solo artist.

He’s undoubtedly a gifted vocalist but seems to have just lacked that consistency and quality with previous releases. There’s every chance that his work as part of SLV has sharpen up some of those rough edges, and I expect this could be a defining mixtape for him, a view I may not be alone in having as Jadakiss, Emilio Rojas and Joe Budden lend their talents to assists to Emanny’s 13-track project. R&B heads should be grabbing this one, and you can do so for free below.

After a few weeks away, R&B Fridays is back and swollen with star quality for this week’s edition. Of course, in keeping with tradition, it’s also released on a Sunday. Nice to be back into routine eh?

Not too much to catch up on in terms of related audio posts, but there are a few videos that’ll interest the R&BF crowd, including Rita Ora’s debut visual, Preeya Kalidas’ latest effort, and a couple of new clips from Drake’s Take Care. Head on below to compliment that visual feast with some audio refreshment.

R&B Fridays: Episode 138

Fridays were always overrated anyway.

Four posts to catch up on from the last week: Usher hooked up with Diplo for an enjoyable return to the spotlight, Ed Sheeran and Yelawolf came together for a free 4-track EP, Raheem DeVaughn made many folks’ Valentine’s Day with a new mixtape, and finally we were treated to an excellent slowed-down remix of Drake and The Weeknd’s Crew Love.

R&B Fridays: Episode 128

An interesting collection of ‘mid-rangers’ this week, as 3 of the 4 included artists are of the sort who regularly release material and frequently collaborate with big name artists, but don’t quite seem to have fully nailed down a spot in their respective lanes. There’s always plenty of talent floating around in that middle ground, and inevitably it’s where we find the next big stars: time will tell if any of these guys are to be that breakout artist.

2 posts to catch up on from the week gone by, with Mike Posner releasing his first project since his debut album, and The Weekend unleashing his first ever music video (I use that term loosely). Click below for this week’s goods.

R&B Fridays: Episode 126

A quiet week on the R&B/pop scene (or rather, the ‘worth checking out’ section), with no posts of note to catch up on aside from the album review of Drake’s Take Care.

Pretty much exclusively fresh, upcoming artists this week though regular readers will be familiar with almost all those involved. Click below for this week’s handcrafted, lovingly-selected musical provisions.

A longer episode this week, with plenty of R&B’s luminaries making appearances this week, including Frank Ocean, Ne-Yo and Trey Songz, alongside a track from the latest group emerging from the Odd Future collective.

Nothing to recap on from the week gone by, so go ahead and treat yourself by clicking below and gorging yourself on the treats within.

Joe Budden-Ayo ft. Emanny

One of the most introspective rappers in the game right now gives us some unreleased material. I think this was meant to be on his upcoming album The Great Escape, but I guess it hasn’t made the cut. That suggests to me that The Great Escape is going to be a fantastic piece of work, as this unreleased track (featuring talented singer Emanny) is one I’m enjoying a lot. From the hook Emanny provides, to the production, to Joey’s lyrics – there’s nothing I can fault with this.

One for Joe Budden fans to grab hold of, and a good start for those who’ve yet to really hear any of Budden’s music before. Joe Budden – Ayo ft. Emanny

Joe Budden - Short Summer

Here’s a new leak from the highly anticipated Mood Music IV. Those who love hip-hop songs which makes you think and tells a story will like this.

Joe Budden – Short Summer ft. Emanny

On this entertaining video to your left here, Joe Budden discusses with his girlfriend Esther Baxter & R&B singer Emanny the type of music he makes, what emo music is, and whether the music he makes is suicidal or not.

“It’s my own music, I can get a woody off my own shit!?”

R&B Fridays: Episode 44

Another regularly-sized episode, which pleases me greatly. Good R&B (and some non R&B…) in here as ever, with plenty of big names sitting alongside some of our favourite newcomers such as Brutha and Bruno Mars. Click on for your weekly R&B allowance.
