Fool's Gold-Loosies (Full Album Stream)

After celebrating five years of groundbreaking music and events, Brooklyn indie powerhouse Fool’s Gold Records puts a giant exclamation point on 2012 with the release of their highly anticipated rap compilation Loosies on December 18th.

Fool’s Gold are one of those labels that a surprising number of well-known acts have had some form of interaction with. From A-Trak being Kanye West’s former tour DJ and Kid Cudi breaking out on the label, to their current roster that boasts Danny Brown, Donnis and many more, they’re one of those labels that don’t force their brand on you, and instead let their acts do their work-an admirable quality.

This LP boasts 23 tracks from their artists and various guests, the latter including Juicy J, Jim Jones and Chuck Inglish, and certainly has some quality about it: an example includes Danny Brown’s thunderous Molly Ringwald, which got plenty of attention back in July. Stream the full thing here, and use the iTunes links in the player to grab the full project for yourself.

Donnis-Absolutely ft. Jay Ant and IAMSU (Video)

Along with E-40′s thumping Function remix, this effort from Donnis is one of the more enjoyable upbeat hip-hop jams in quite some time.

It’s a shame that the comparative lack of big names makes this unlikely to affect the club scene as much as Function will, as it’s every bit as enjoyable and certainly more energetic. The clip gives the three upcomers plenty of camera time to get audiences acquainted with them, interspersing shots of them rapping their verses with lively club scenes. It allows the visual to capture the energy of the song in with the confidence of the rappers, with the latter clearly evidenced throughout courtesy of three diverse yet watertight flows from each MC, proof positive that you don’t need to sacrifice rap ability to drop something for the clubs.

Worth a watch and definitely worth a download, which you can do here. Be sure to support and grab Donnis’ EP on iTunes (US) now too.

Donnis-Absolutely ft. IAMSU & Jay Ant

Donnis is back on the scene with a huge upbeat jam that will definitely turn some heads in his direction.

The production is high-tempo stuff, incorporating some fast-paced melodies in with a fluid bass that moves through the track with ease. The raps have to be quick to keep up and each MC does a good job with their verse, keeping the flows slick and speedy without sounding too alike, whilst the hook is hugely infectious and will definitely be stuck on your lips for a while. A very likeable uptempo track that’ll definitely find favour with many.

B.o.B-No Genre Mixtape and The Watchers Video

B.o.B gives us another video from No Genre just as he releases the full tape, and it’s another great track. He comes through with a more conscious lyrical message on the track, running through lots of issues and questions in captivating manner that is aided by his variety in the flows.

Really enjoying the video too, as his lyrics are brought to life with the a thought-provoking set of still images that certainly add their own messages to Bobby’s.

Most importantly, the full mixtape is now available below. Really looking forward to this as the two tracks we’ve caught from it thus far have been superb. Tracklist is available after the jump below.

Donnis - Black And Yellow Freestyle

Donnis raps over Wiz Khalifa’s excellent Black And Yellow track, hopefully we’ll see some more rappers take this on.

Donnis-Fashionably Late Mixtape

Had a bit of trouble posting this evening, so forgive me for being a bit off-the-pace with this one. I suppose you could say I’m….Fashionably Late? No? Sorry.

Latest mixtape offering from Donnis, who is very rapidly gaining a lot of fans. Looking forward to see how that expanded fanbase has affected his music, if at all, and expect this guy to blow up soon, even more than he already has.

XXL 10 Freshman Mixtape

Most of y’all should be familiar with the XXL 10 Freshman thing they do. Last year’s was great, and they were pretty much spot on with them all. I can’t say I know as much about 2 or 3 of this year’s 10, but expect a lot from the ones I am familiar with. I do however find the inclusion of OJ Da Juiceman in a ‘serious’ list to be ridiculous (quiet down Tempest!). For those who haven’t yet checked out who’s in this year, click here.

Anyway, this is a mixtape full of new tracks from these guys and will 100% be worth grabbing. Some of these guys are definitely going to blow up this year, so don’t miss out.

Kidz In The Hall, 88-Keys, Izza Kizza & Donnis Collab

That is not just a list of dope upcomers, but is actually the line-up for the Crowd Control Tour going down in the US. To commemorate that, they’ve dropped a posse cut for us all to enjoy. I’ve only given it a brief listen so far, but it sounded really good and had a nice energy about it. All these guys can spit too, so I don’t expect the verses to be lacking either.
