Game ft. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Celebration Remix [Video]

Wasn’t a fan of the original Celebration track from Game, so normally I’d ignore any remixes of it, however the feature on this being Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, well that got my attention. Pretty cool considered the original track actually sampled a Bone Thugs track. What surprised me about this track is that Game managed to get ALL members of the fractious group to appear on this track! They had split (for the millionth time) last year, so this is s collector’s item indeed.

The track itself really suits Bone Thugs chilled out style of harmonious quick rapping, and Game does his trademark copying of his guest star’s flows. It doesn’t always work for him i.e. every time he gets on a song with Rick Ross (eurgh), but I think he sounds good when he tries the quick flow. Anyway, I digress – check this track out, especially if you’re a Bone Thugs fan. Apparently all five members are getting back together to make one last album as a 5 man collective next year, so look out for that (assuming they don’t fall out again before then).

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony-We Workin’

For this weeks edition of Monster Mondays, Swizz Beatz has decided to release a collaboration with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony from the vaults.

It’s a solid but typical Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song to be honest. The dark, eery beat and the rapid fire yet melodic flow are present, with the subject matter pertaining to the theme of “Workin’” and thuggery. It’s definitely worth a listen but you can see why it was left unreleased, both Swizz Beatz and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are capable of better.

Layzie Bone-Hear Em Knockin’ ft. Krayzie Bone & Flesh-N-Bone

With three members of Bone Thugz featuring on this, you could just call this a Bone Thugz song. However, it is mooted for Layzie’s upcoming album, The Definition, which is out next month.

Speaking of Bone Thugz, I have no idea if they’re actually still together or not, or which members have fallen out with who. So many conflicting reports, something that has been synonymous with Bone Thugz since the very start.

As for the song, this is bloody brilliant and at the same time encapsulates all my frustrations with these guys. When they’re capable of making such high energy, quality flows and hooks to excellent production, why did they insist on releasing a lot of the tripe that featured on their last (disappointing but much anticipated) reunion album, Uni5: The World’s Enemy?

Anyway, rant over. This track is brilliant, so pick it up by clicking right here.

Sunday's Classic Collabo: Biggie & Bone Thugs

I’m surprised at myself for not featuring this song before, it’s tracks like this that inspired this feature of mine in the first place. Anyway, better late than never.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

A new radio friendly track from Bone Thugs. I’m really liking this, its one that will certainly grow on you and I can see this being a hit for them. The chorus is great and is supplemented with a very good beat, which always helps.

Rebirth

No, this post isn’t anything to do with Lil’ Wayne. It’s in fact Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s video for their new single which is from their upcoming album Uni-5: The World’s Enemy. Fans of Bone Thugs will be wet in anticipation for this album as it is the 1st album in over ten years to feature all 5 original members. Some of you may or may not know that Bizzy Bone was kicked out of the group in 2002 for being a literally mental, drug addicted alcoholic and Flesh-n-Bone had been incarcerated from 2000 up until his release from prison in 2008.

As for the track, I’m really liking this. It’s the classic Bone Thugs flow with an energetic beat. To me, and this is just my opinion, it sounds like the underlying message of this track is Bone Thugs going at all the young pretenders in hip hop who have jacked the style of sing-rapping they pioneered and that they’re back to put everyone in their place (hence the title of the track, ‘Rebirth’).

Check the video out and grab the mp3 (thanks to Chris for hooking me up with this quality track btw) for this below.
