Sade-Love Is Found Video

One of the new/previously unreleased tracks found on the recently-released The Ultimate Collection, this video is taken from a live show but is so slickly produced, you’d be hard pressed to tell at times.

Alongside the performance shots of the band doing their work, the video blends in close-ups of dancing silhouettes on the video screen, adding a captivating energy and flair to the production, and certainly making the video more distinguishable than the usual live performance music video.

Of course, the audio is superb too, as Sade’s smooth, timeless vocal chords command attention over urgent melodies and sharp percussion work. Hugely enjoyable slice of soul/R&B, and I’d definitely recommend grabbing The Ultimate Collection as soon as possible, assuming you have some semblance of taste.

Sade-Love Is Found

Another one from that hugely anticipated Ultimate Collection, and another absolute gem from the beautiful tones of Sade. The track opens in a classical manner that oozes elegance, utilising a harmonic string section that winds along softly with Sade’s mellow tones. The track then switches gears with a funk-style guitar licks that develops into an edgy, punchy production with sharp production and more dramatic string work, whilst the guitars turn from funky to spiky, with Sade’s captivating vocals manoeuvring comfortably through the diverse production with passion and quality.

R&B Fridays: Episode 95

5 weeks away from the 100th episode, and the ‘new format’ rolls on with another easy-to-digest and concise edition. Not too much to catch up on in terms of different posts, but I’m sure anyone with even a sprinkling of good taste will be interested in grabbing 64 Frank Ocean tracks.

An interesting blend of mainstream stuff and more refined soul-oriented material this week, as well as chucking in the now customary throwback R&B track of the week. Click below to be happy.

Sade-The Moon And The Sky Remix ft. Jay-Z

The legendary Sade hooks up with Jay-Z for a collaboration that’ll feature on her upcoming The Ultimate Collection compilation.

It’s not often Sade collaborates with other artists, so this is a much welcomed and anticipated track. Produced by 40 (the man behind Drake’s biggest hits) the track is ridiculously smooth which makes for easy-listening. Jay’s verse, whilst nothing revolutionary, does compliment the track really well, with some clever wordplay and he flows well to the song.

R&B Fridays: Episode 33

Similar to last week’s episode, this one contains a nice blend of big names, up-and-comers and some that we (I) haven’t heard from in a while.

We’ve dropped some R&B-related goodies throughout the week too, be sure to scroll down a couple of posts and check out the video for Usher’s lead single from Raymond vs. Raymond. When you’ve done that, scroll back up and enter the R&B room.

The Catch-Up

drake-cudi
As I posted earlier this week, there has been a build-up of tracks in my library that I simply haven’t had the time to post over the last 2 weeks. Well, this is the final clearout from the last 2 days, after which I’m back on sentry duty and posting it on the minute I get it. This is a pretty nice collection too, with Drake, Sadé (that’s right!), Rev Run (that’s right!), Wale and more making appearances.
