Just in case you don’t know what a real wombat looks like.
The only song of theirs I really remember/like is Moving To New York, which was a frankly superb track. They’re unlikely to hit those heights ever again in terms of quality, but this a decent effort. Like many of today’s indie bands, they put a lot of emphasis and attention on their hooks. They do get it right more often than not, including here where they give the track a real singalong quality: the hook boasts pounding drums, mesmerising backing vocals and catchy lines. Sadly, they aren’t suitably matched in the verses, which are very lacklustre. Probably worth a listen for the hook though, as it’s a great example of how to get that particular aspect right.
