First off, let’s get something clear: I do not/did not like The White Stripes. Couldn’t care less that they’ve broken up, though this distaste is borne purely of hatred for that STUPID song they made about a doorbell. Sorry, but if you’re going to make a song like that and not class it as ‘comedy’, you’ve got a screw loose and really need to rethink certain aspects of your life.
Now that’s out of the way, I can say I did (along with most) enjoy Seven Nation Army. This remix is a very enjoyable refresh of the track. The original’s minimal production left a lot open for addition, and in adding a bassy, driving electro vibe whilst retaining the slow, winding tempo of the original (for the most part), Glitch Mob fill those gaps nicely. The end result is a pulsating piece of alternative electro that manages to make the track even more thudding and head-nodding than the original. Definitely worth checking out, both for electro heads and fans of the original.
