MGMT-Congratulations Video

The title track from MGMT’s latest LP gets some visual treatment. I fully expect this to be bizarre and wonderful in equal measure, as most of their videos tend to be.

MGMT-It’s Working Video

Quick one from me as the Brazil game is about to kick off (although this isn’t being published until around half-time!).

Expect this video to be either insane, brilliant or a heady mixture of the two. From their newest album Congratulations.

Pursuit of Happiness Remixed By Steve Aoki

I could not have crammed in any more genres in the last 24 hours!

Probably the best remix I’ve heard of this song to date. It stays very true to the awesome original and doesn’t speed it up obscenely, like most dance remixes tend to. The additions that are made are worthwhile, and definitely make this track ready for a club playlist. One to check out for sure.

MGMT-Flash Delirium

MGMT return with a new track, and they’ve actually released it for free on their own site. Haven’t checked this one out, but they’ve cemented themselves as one of the top alternative acts around (largely thanks to the popularity of Kids) and I’m looking forward to giving it a listen.

Kid Cudi, MGMT and Ratatat's Pursuit of Happiness-Alternate Video

This is actually really, really good. It’s got a much eerier feel than the original video, which fits the song really well. Not that the original didn’t, but they fit the song in different ways.

I really like the ‘groundhog day’ repetition that they’ve got going on, and it definitely catches a different mindset than the original.

Very interesting video, and really well directed. I’m not sure which version I prefer though, I think I’m 50/50. Great song, 2 great videos=winner!

Chiddy Bang/MGMT

I’ve only just heard this song moments ago and had to get it up straight away – this is just so good. As you may have noticed yourself, it’s a remix of the MGMT song ‘Kids’.

I will post the audio for this track at a later date (haven’t got hold of it yet).

Ajay-182 Edit: Bringing this back up to the top as I’ve upped the .mp3 for y’all to enjoy.

Pursuit of Happiness Video...Finally!

What a video. A fantastic effort, which genuinely enhances the song with a great set of visuals.

The effects on the video really capture the dream state that Cudi describes lyrically, as he moves at normal speed amongst the slow-down surroundings to develop those themes brilliantly. Couple of nice cameos too, with Drake playing a prominent part and Consequence popping up once or twice.

Quick Blast: Kid Cudi 2

picture-155
Quick bit of news on Cudi. The third single from Man On The Moon: The End of Day is confirmed to be Pursuit of Happiness, and will feature MGMT and Ratatat. Awesome!

(If you aren’t familiar with those two bands, click their names to hear a track of theirs. Cudi fans should recognise the Ratatat song…)
