Quick one from me, after Indi’s flourish of hip hop-ery.
You Me At Six who I mentioned in my Best of ’09 (see the link to your left, and yes the meerkat has a cowboy hat on. He also had a guitar in the whole picture), had their new album Hold Me Down leaked a few days ago. I’ve listened to parts of it, and Stay With Me isn’t bad. The new album, almost disappointing, sounds like they’re trying to be Paramore, obviously without Hayley Williams’ female vocals. I say disappointing as its good to have only one band that can do something well, rather than a few that can do it average.
Cold War Kids released a new EP called Behave Yourself after their last 2 albums named Robbers & Cowards, and Loyalty to Loyalty, neither of which I’ve actually heard. I know, I’m a terrible person. I’ll get on the case soon though. The first track from this EP is called Audience of One which is like some kind of moody blues and indie cross, and it pains to say it that is sounds a bit like that parasite on society that is Amy Drugshouse.
