Fridays were always overrated anyway.
Four posts to catch up on from the last week: Usher hooked up with Diplo for an enjoyable return to the spotlight, Ed Sheeran and Yelawolf came together for a free 4-track EP, Raheem DeVaughn made many folks’ Valentine’s Day with a new mixtape, and finally we were treated to an excellent slowed-down remix of Drake and The Weeknd’s Crew Love.

As diverse as this series has been, this is definitely another step in mixing things up as this is practically original material: Crook takes time off from shredding other rappers’ beats and remixes the lesser-known California Love part 2 from top-to-bottom, with the only remnants being some of the samples used in the production.
Good raps from Crook as ever, switching up the flows across the entire track which gives his rhymes some nice versatility. Lyrics wise, it’s his usual West Coast style which naturally works fine in the context of the remix. Good hook from K-Young too, and certainly the most complete ‘song’ he’s made thus far in the HHWR series.

19 tracks from 19 different artists this week tells you that this episode is stacked with variety. Mostly established names too (at least in the R&B Fridays series!), so this is definitely one to be getting involved with.
As per usual routine, let’s catch up with the R&B week gone by: the new Rihanna single, Ne-Yo’s latest video, hugely anticipated visuals for Bruno Mars’ debut single, the official tracklisting for Bruno’s debut album, much-delayed video from Auburn, and finally the latest collab from Taio Cruz and Tinchy Stryder.

Another new K-Young track, this one even better than the last! Drake brings his A-game once again. Really good track this, would sound great in a club, production sounds very much by Timbaland, but I’m not 100% sure it’s him so don’t quote me on that.
Apologies to Ajay if this was meant for R&B Fridays, but this track deserves a post of its own tbh.

Followers of R&B Fridays may or may not recognise the name K-Young. Pretty good track this, always good to hear some Game, especially with us all waiting impatiently for his next album. Go grab the track below.

A nice blend of mainstream and underground artists this week, and a bit of variety in the artists too with no particular artists having more than one track in this episode.
Click on to get your weekly fill of R&B nutrition. Apologies if some of my analysis is a bit short this week, I’m in a rush! Doing 14 tracks ain’t easy…

Unusual episode this one. I actually had a vast majority of this material with me by the end of Saturday night and could have probably written an entire episode right there. There was a great deal dropped later in the week too, making this episode 19 tracks deep and in terms of quality it’s potentially one of the best yet.
Click below for new/unreleased music from Usher, Ne-Yo, Bruno Mars and many more. As usual, a couple of newer artists in there too. Before you do though, be sure to grab this fantastic Christina Milian track that Indi liberated (and consequentially robbed from this episode!) earlier this week.
