Six tracks from six respected artists to enjoy this week, bringing together a little bit of soul, a little bit of pop and a little more R&B.
The same can be said with this week’s related posts, with a soulful jam delivered by UK upcomer Cherri Prince, fellow Brit Emeli Sande collaborating with Wretch32 for a free single, a cinematic visual for The-Dream’s latest R&B slow jam, and finally a remix of Kreayshawn’s popular Gucci Gucci.

Once again, it’s not quite a Friday. However, with the busy Christmas/New Year period over, hopefully these will be back on regular schedule from next week!
The past week has seen some pretty interesting R&B/pop pieces: Duck Sauce came through with a great remix of Chromeo and Elly Jackson’s single, the well-respected Jackie Boyz dropped off a mixtape, Marsha Ambrosius delivered an incredibly thoughtful video, Eminem remixed Dirty Money’s Hello, Good Morning, and we were also treated to two more Dirty Money remixes. Click below for this week’s instalment.

The homies at Gowhere Hip Hop caught up with Jeremih recently for an interview and “got his take on a few hot topic items. He responded to Keenan Cahill’s video, which already yielded 7 million more eyes towards his single “Down On Me” f/ 50 Cent. Jeremih says “Even on itunes it went from 22 to #7 in a matter of overnight!”
He also touched on a new mixtape he’s gonna drop featuring a Big Sean and Paul Wall collab called “Old School Pontiac”, while promising another collabo for Sean’s upcoming album as well. Speaking on Big Sean’s skills Jeremih said, “If people like Drake and other great rappers out there, he’s right up there with em.”

I’m sure you can forgive me for this being a couple of days late: having no laptop sort of makes things a little difficult! Hence, I’ll not keep you too long out here in the cold and away from the R&B.
Whilst I’m told the pre-episode recaps are going down well, in the interests of time you can take care of it yourself for this week by clicking the R&B category at the top of this page, which should fill you in appropriately. Click on for this week’s episode.

50 promised to release this track on Twitter earlier, and came through moments ago. It looks like Down On Me isn’t the only track these two worked on, and it’s just as well seeing as this one is far better than the aforementioned.
It’s not that rugged 50 sound by any means, but as 50 rightly claimed it’s definitely ‘baby-making music’, being incredibly chilled and relaxing. The beat is suitably minimal, keeping all trace of percussion away in favour of soothing melodies and nice vocals from Jeremih. Real smooth stuff, one the R&B fans will really enjoy.

Visuals for the somewhat underwhelming collaboration from these guys. Jeremih’s album was released today I believe, and there are at least one or two decent tracks on there, give it a go.
Audio can be dragged kicking and screaming from here.

Lots of things I could pick out in this week’s episode, but probably the most prominent would be the features: there are lots of them! A couple of unexpected ones too, including Asher Roth’s first appearance in R&B Fridays.
Warm yourself up for this episode with some help from Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj: watch Bruno Mars perform some classics, listen to Bruno collab with Damian Marley, and enjoy a cover version of Just The Way You Are. Then, grab a great Nicki-featured collabo, listen to her next single from Pink Friday, and finally catch her blended with La Roux and Colin Munroe.

Lots of material in this episode, and plenty has already been released throughout the week.
To recap: Trey Songz’s latest visuals, Khalil’s debut visuals, the official single from the upcoming Foreign Exchange album, Cee-Lo’s anticipated F*** You video, a fantastic cover of Outkast’s Prototype, and finally a new Trey Songz and Drake collaboration.
Oddly, there are some huge hip-hop names making appearances in this episode. Click on to see what they’re doing hanging around these parts, and what everyone else is up to.

Right, seeing as today has been pretty slow – I’ll let loose the tracks that didn’t make it in Friday’s jam-packed episode. I won’t bother putting much (any) analysis into these tracks, as most of them aren’t really my thing. By which I mean that a lot these songs are mostly of the slow type of R&B, which I’m sure a lot of you will like…loads. Click on for the goods.

Consistency is the key, and like last week there are 18 tracks for you to check out. Pretty much full of names you should be familiar with by now, giving everything a go this week is made a lot easier in that respect.
Savour these episodes-next week could be my last R&B Friday for a few weeks as I’m going away. What/who will substitute for them you ask? Wait and see. Still one more to go after this one though!

18 tracks from 18 artists this week, with a bunch of the biggest names in R&B/pop/soul making the cut.
As per recent routines, I’d recommend checking over the R&B posts from the week gone by: Dirty Money want your love, Trey Songz is already taken, Lloyd has dropped 3 guest features this week, and Ciara recruited Andre 3000 for a Ride remix.

We introduced you to Chicago duo LA & Mr. Music a little while back. If you need a little refresh, hit the link here and get familiar.
Shouts to GWHH for sending this remix over, with LA remixing Jeremih’s hit I’mma Star. LA definitely goes in on the verses, and drops some really nice lines. He fits in nicely on this song, and takes the beat on with ease.
Definitely worth a download, and you can do so below.
