Damian Marley and Nas-Patience

I did previously promise that I wouldn’t let loose of any more Distant Relatives leaks. However, I’ve been given good reason to break that promise as this leak is directly approved by the duo themselves. Lucky you!

In keeping with every single leak from this album, this is another very enjoyable track. Much more on the reggae side of things, this is a pretty slow and chilled track as the title suggests. Not quite as ‘exciting’ as some of the other leaks, but it’s definitely a grower and one that fits the idealogies of the album very well.

R&B Fridays: Episode 46

Some very good music from new upcomers in this episode, and I expect you’ll definitely find a new artist to latch onto in here. Some stuff from R&B Fridays favourites such as Bruno Mars too of course, and plenty of it with a total of 21 tracks making the final cut for this episode.

Click on for that weekly R&B fix you’ve been begging for. Don’t pretend like you weren’t.

Damian Marley and Nas-Friends (Final Leak We Will Post From Album!)

Having already posted 4 or 5 leaks from this album, I’m not comfortable with dropping any more so please be aware this is the last one we’re giving you.

Every single one has been really good (and diverse!) so far, so you shouldn’t need any more motivation to get that album in a couple of weeks. If you do, this track will be it. Switching styles once again, this one is definitely more reggae-based and so mellow that I just punched myself to make sure I’m still awake.

Perfect, sublime example of how to give reggae a modern twist, and throw an infusion of hip-hop in for good measure. Summertime music right here.

Damian Marley, Nas and K'naan-Africa Must Wake Up

What a lineup. Some of the best and most creative artists in music right now get together for a track from Damian/Nas’ Distant Relatives album. I’ve only given it one listen thus far, but it sounds awfully smooth and was a really good listen. Some really conscious lyrics over a great summer beat with a fantastic hook, this is definitely one that everyone can enjoy. Click below to share the love.

Latest Leak From Nas & Damian Marley’s Distant Relatives

Fantastic beat on this one. A nice reggae/hip-hop fusion on the boards, but definitely with a stronger reggae vibe to it that goes down well with me. A production that is perfect for the summer weather making its way to us, Nas and Damian both do a nice job with the rhymes and it’s another good track from the duo.

Distant Relatives drops May 18th, and it’s looking good.

Damian Marley & Nas-Promised Land ft. Dennis Brown

Barrington Levy, Snoop Dogg and Mims

I am far, far too tired to even consider writing a detailed review of this track. It’s good, and is a reggae/hip-hop hybrid. Not a Damian Marley/Nas type hybrid though. Decent effort from the reggae legend nonetheless.

Damian Marley & Nas-As We Enter

I should probably qualify Indi’s pluralised statement below of ‘leaks from the album’ seeing as none of us had posted the 2nd leak-woops. I haven’t listened to it yet, but this is the track that we dropped a snippet for a few months back. I recall quite liking that snippet, so I expect this will be a very strong effort.

Sunday’s Classic Collabo: Damian Marley/Nas

After recent leaks from the much anticipated album from Damian Marley and Nas, I thought I’d remind you all of the track that started off the entire idea. If you haven’t heard this song before then you are in for a treat, it’s practically the reason why I’m so excited about the album these two are doing together. Don’t forget to click the red text below to download the track, after you’ve seen the video. Oh and look out for a cameo in the video by one of my current favourite rappers.

Damian Marley and Nas-Strong Will Continue

Cracking track this one, as you’d expect. There’s talk of this being picked as the first single from the Distant Relatives album, and it would certainly be a strong choice. Can’t really say anything bad about this, the verses are good, the beat is driving and the hook is memorable and motivational. Definitely worth grabbing.

Quick Blast: Maino

maino-blu
Maino has been abit quiet since the release of his debut album back in June, so it’s great to hear him come out with some new material. This track features Mavado on the chorus and is a typical street banger - definitely a track to bump in the car!

Before I type anything else, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my co-author, and fellow music lover, Notorious Indi. Have a good one!

Back to the music: Some of you will know this, and some will not, but Nas and Damian Marley announced a while back that they were doing a collaborative album entitled Distant Relatives.
