Scissor Sisters-Invisible Light Video

Not safe for school/work due to nudity and blood!

Probably the strongest track from their latest album, Invisible Light is certainly a good choice for a single and will likely make a good dent on the charts.

The video is just odd. I pride myself on my analytical skills on even the most left-field of videos and whilst captivating, this is certainly an extremely unusual video that is almost impossible to draw a semblance of structure from. It seems to take the upbeat track into a darker realm, which is fairness does add some depth to the previously-light dance pop track. Audio can be grabbed here.

Thought I’d be kind enough to give you another track from this album, just for those of you who are fans and looking forward to the June 28th release date.

Very different one to Invisible Light, but likeable in its own way. Much more pop-driven than the aforementioned track, this one comes with a clearer structure and a catchier hook. This doesn’t quite have the nostalgic charm of Invisible Light, but has a very futuristic feel in the (very likeable) production and will definitely satisfy their fans. My faith in these guys continues its restoration.

Back in 2004 when these guys first surfaced, I really enjoyed their debut album. It was in-your-face, unrestricted stuff which made for fairly compelling listening, with a couple of genuinely outstanding tracks. I think they lost their way (massively) with the second album and over-diluted their sound: I haven’t checked for them since.

Regardless, it’s fair to say that they were definitely ahead of their time a little: Look at GaGa’s success, and tell me that she isn’t hugely influenced by these guys (both musically and in terms of style etc.).

Anyway, this is a track from their upcoming album, and it’s pretty good. It’s got a likeable mixture of an 80′s vibe and an electro feel, which as with their first album makes for compelling listening. One listen of this track tells you that this will get some serious time in clubs, and will end up with a whole heap of remixes. Dance music fans will definitely enjoy this.
