The Lonely Island-Motherlover

The sequel to the fantastic D**k In A Box, if I recall correctly this actually premiered on SNL a few months back. However, it’s now hit the internets ‘officially’, and is slated for The Lonely Island’s Turtleneck and Chain album.

Reprising their roles as the corny 80s/early 90s singers, Justin and Andy bring another dose of hilarity, this time dedicated to satisfying the other’s mother. Typically, its lyrically pretty graphic and hence makes for some laugh-out-loud moments, aided by the various shenanigans going on throughout the video.

Not as good as D**k In A Box, but that was never going to be an easy act to follow. Funny in its own right, and worth a watch!

R&B Fridays: Episode 96

Plenty of new material this week, in what has been a very active week for the R&B and pop scene. Well, that’s probably a half-truth as there’s only really the one post to recap on from this week’s posts, with the official visuals for Nikki & Rich’s breakout single with Fabolous surfacing.

Very interesting lineup in this week’s episode, with man-of-the-moment Frank Ocean lining up alongside such current luminaries as Chris Brown, Trey Songz and many more. No throwback this week as there has been quite a chunk of new material to get through, but there’s lots of good stuff to get into regardless. Click below to collect your winnings.

R&B Fridays: Episode 81

Will R&B Fridays ever be on time? That’s the question.

I’ve more than compensated though, throwing in almost 20 tracks for you to enjoy this week. There’s no skimping on the big names either, as there are some strong contributions from some of the bigger stars in the R&B/pop world. No real recap this week as the music industry has all but shut down, though the Alicia Keys version of Devil In A New Dress is a must-download.

Danny Lifted-No Curfew

“As CEO of Tenman Records, Justin Timberlake is intimately involved in the selection and signing of artists, as well as the production of their albums. Timberlake has signed new act Danny Lifted and claims he is “the artist of the future”. Danny Lifted’s first single “No Curfew” has just been released. Produced by Timberlake himself, he hopes fans will embrace Danny Lifted the way he has and promises a newpop star has been born”.

Jimmy Fallon, The Roots and Justin Timberlake-History of Hip-Hop

This is ridiculous and awesome. Fallon and JT (backed by The Roots) go through a medley of hip-hop classics (and a couple of non-classics…) superbly. JT’s always been a hip-hop fan, but even Fallon’s good with the classics and it’s really fun viewing. Brilliant stuff!

Diddy-Shades ft. Lil Wayne & Justin Timberlake

Bit of a weird track, which perhaps signifies the direction Diddy’s next album Last Train To Paris is going to be taking. Lil’ Wayne on this track seems like a bit of a waste (you’ll hear what I mean when you listen to this song), but Justin Timberlake saves the day and makes this track weird in a good way rather than weird in a “wtf is this sh*t!?” kind of way.

R&B Fridays: Episode 49 (Also, My 1000th Post!)

49 episodes in, and the fantastic material still keeps coming. The common theme of recent weeks has been a frightening consistency in the quality, as we’ve seen some superb R&B tracks being let loose in anticipation of the summer. Whereas previous R&B Fridays have been a bit of a struggle to fill/review, the past few weeks have certainly made my (busy) life a lot easier!

This week is no different, and you’ve got some very good stuff to look forward to in your immediate future from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Amerie and many more. Not as many lesser-known names as there usually are, instead we’ve got the more established names looking to make their mark. Click on to let them know if they got it right.

Edit: This is my 1000th post on this site, on the eve of my final University exam. Celebrations aplenty!

Game, Pharrell and Justin Timberlake-Ain’t No Doubt About It

A version of this leaked a few days ago with DJ tags and wasn’t great on quality. I don’t deal with that rubbish, and I’ll give you the real thing. No tags.

This one will divide Game fans. It’s a very mainstream soundand certainly puts a dent in Game’s fabled beat selection skills. It’s a good beat, don’t get me wrong, but for me it’s not a Game beat at all. Having said that, his flow is pretty decent and you have to credit the guy for stepping out of his comfort zone and trying something new. JT and Pharrell bring everything you’d expect from them on this, with some decent vocals and adlibs throughout.

Mainstream/chart fans will really enjoy this, whether you’re into Game’s music or not. Being into Pharrell/JT will be enough for this one. Sadly, that does extradite the hip-hop heads who like Game on his raw tip, but there we are.

R&B Fridays: Episode 41

50 tracks. I had to plough through 50 tracks this week! Expect a part 2 post in the next few days as a result.

The crazy thing is that pretty much all of the tracks are from really big name artists, which makes this episode (and the sequel) pretty stacked at 22 tracks each (5/6 of the tracks were poor, hence a 44 total!).

Lloyd, Keri, Leona, R-Les, and many more are all waiting for you after the click. There’s some real quality in here (especially from Johnta and Lloyd) and this is possibly the best episode ever, so be sure to check this one out whether you’re a new fan or a regular.

Timbaland and Justin Timberlake-Carry Out Video

I’m pretty meh about this track, as you can discover here. Probably going to have its fans though, so I can’t deprive you of the visuals. I’m alright like that.

Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West

I found this fairly interesting picture on Google, it does not represent my own opinions.

The Kanye track is an unfinished demo. Not sure if it’s a demo for himself or someone else, but it’s new material and worth grabbing for ‘Ye fans.

I don’t know where the Madonna/JT collabo is going to end up either, but I very much doubt the mainstream fans care seeing as it’s a big collabo. I personally believe it was an unreleased track from whatever album it was that had 4 Minutes on it, but I could be wrong. It’s a pretty good track though, I’ve surprised myself by enjoying it to be honest. The production/JT’s contribution are definite highlights

A phenomenally original post title for this collection of new music. New stuff from John Mayer, Game, Jamie Foxx/Justin Timberlake and much more from loads of big names after the click.

I need to stop having to resort to multiple track-filled posts and post this sh*t up when I get it, like I used to. Bad habits eh?

A very different line-up this week to what we’re normally used to, but still bringing the R&B goodness. There’s an entirely free 14-track EP from the acclaimed Kevin Cossom in there too, so be sure to click on.

The Return of JT and Timbo

timbjt
…is rather disappointing. This isn’t even a scratch on some of their previous work, and sounds like it was just thrown in just to say they did something together for this album. I might be wrong, but I doubt it.
