King of the adlibs, and one of those rappers whose verses have a nasty habit of getting stuck in your head, the boss Rick Ross comes through with a bumper 19-track mixtape, made up of what I believe to mostly be brand new, original material to satisfy those disappointed by the delay on his God Forgives, I Don’t album.
Plenty of features for the mainstream crowd to lap up, including Drake (who apparently goes at Common on his verse), Kelly Rowland, the ubiquitous 2 Chainz and more, alongside some for the rest of us including Nas, Stalley and Styles P. Production-wise, there’s an interesting mix of established guys and new names (to me, at least), which should make for a nice diverse listen as some of those newcomers look to prove themselves. From folk to grime, Ed Sheeran’s experienced and performed it all, emerging as one of the most well-rounded artists in the UK scene at a young age.
When a rare and homegrown talent of this quality arises, there’s an air of inevitability that he’s going to be one of the UK’s better artists in the coming years. Hence, for us here at OTU it’s best to get on the bandwagon now, as it’s going to be pretty hard to find room on it very soon: welcome to an Overrating the Underrated exclusive interview with the wonderfully-gifted Ed Sheeran.
Indi caught up with Ed to discuss a range of topics, including his thoughts on the No. 5 Collaborations EP, his upcoming album, and much more in a very in-depth interview. Huge thanks to Ed for being so friendly, and to Gully and Sian for putting this together.
You can read the script of the interview below (including a bonus question not on the video!), and of course the video interview is available up here. If, for whatever reason, you’d prefer to view the video (in 2 parts) on Youtube, you can do that here and here.

Royce Da 5’9″ is Detroit’s shining star and aside from being an OTU favourite, Royce has famously worked with Eminem, D12, Dre and DJ Premier to name only a few and is now taking the industry by storm with the lyrical powerhouse Slaughterhouse.
Read the exclusive interview after the jump to find out what Royce had to say about squashing the beef with Proof, how Twitter has helped engage with his fans and who he’s feeling from this generations’ current crop of emcees…

Nowadays, it’s tough to find an artist who can cross boundaries of genres, and still remain equally talented in each field.
Not many people can claim to be able to have a mastery over folk/acoustic music, and yet deliver a chorus on a hip-hop track that has the entire world singing.
Overrating The Underrated has found one. We bring you an exclusive interview we conducted with the critically-acclaimed Matthew Santos. Click below!
