Haven’t been this excited for a mixtape in a little while. I’ve only caught the one track (Day Job) but such was the pure hip-hop essence, I’m really confident that this will be of a great standard.
Of course, the individual components of the group help, and being led by the fantastic mic skills of Black Thought is always going to work in anyone’s favour. The list of contributors doesn’t end with the MMJB, as the project is mixed by Mick Boogie and Terry Urban, as well as featuring some production by Thought’s fellow Roots member ?uestlove, and some Jazzy Jeff scratches in for good measure. To me, it sounds like the perfect formula for a solid hip-hop mixtape. You know what to do.

A fun, remixed uptempo happy good time consisting of the best remixes and rarites of this years Grammy nominees. Featuring remixed music by everyone from Lady Gaga, La Roux and Rihanna to Kanye West, Vampire Weekend and Florence & The Machine, there’s something for everybody for sure.
Looks very interesting to say the least, and the duo of Boogie and Urban never fail to deliver when it comes to these original projects. There are some serious names on this one, and the tracklist will defnitely whet your appetite. Click below for the download, and even further below for the tracklist.

Mick, take it away:
“Two years ago, Boogie and Urban set the music world on fire with an unprecedented mash-up (although they hate that word) of musical icons Jay-Z and Coldplay. Viva La Hova went on to garner hundreds of thousands of downloads, and receive acclaim around the world. Jay-Z himself told Mick he liked the project and Coldplay even linked to it on their official website.
As the weather gets colder and summertime fades away, it seemed like a perfect time to re-release a project that can only be described as ambient cold weather music. Featuring two new bonus songs not contained on the original Viva La Hova, this project also finds the original mixes re-mastered, non-sequenced, and without the signature “dj drops” over the songs.

Now that I’ve finally had some time, a quick glance over my inbox threw up this little gem that Mick Boogie sent across. It’s the latest project from himself and Terry Urban (from a long line of classic mixtapes, go here for some) and is a tribute to the veterans of hip-hop, De La Soul. There are some great names contributing on this, including Talib Kweli, Camp Lo, Colin Munroe and many more.
Definitely worth grabbing, and anyone who owns one of these boys’ previous projects will know that this is going to be something special.

A confusing title, but the one man who brings it all together is mixtape specialist Mick Boogie. Along with Terry Urban, he’s worked on some of the most acclaimed mixtapes around over the last few years, including Viva La Hova and the 2009 Grammy Remix project.
You really need to click below to get some very, very good music. There’s something for fans of both indie-rock and hip-hop in the mixtapes, and you’ll certainly be missing out on some superb stuff if you miss this out.
