Pretty big fan of all of the acts involved here, and the synergy of them all is very successful. We’re treated to a very uplifting, motivating and upbeat track that brings the best out of all involved.
Double-O’s one of the more underrated producers in the game, and here he serves up a bouncy production that oozes a summery, celebratory feel. Tabi and Naledge brings some very solid rhymes, seemingly enjoying their position as stars in the hip-hop game, and having no problems in articulating that throughout their bars. One Chance round things off with a decent hook that blends very well with the production, playing off the aforementioned uplifting quality nicely.
The video here seems to be just a teaser, and hopefully we’ll get a full video soon. There’s a lot they could do with this track, and hopefully we’ll see something good come of it. Audio can be grabbed here.

I have to say I’ve done the guy a bit of an injustice recently as I’ve not managed to grab his latest material, despite hugely enjoying one of his efforts from last year. I’d probably go as far as saying it was one of my favourite tracks of 2010 (top 30 at least), and definitely warrants a listen.
Anyway, Tabi bursts back onto my radar with this very enjoyable effort. Props on the relatively obscure sample, as you’d have to be quite the Lykke Li (or Kings of Leon) fan to have heard this particular track, which suggests he has commendably eclectic tastes. The original is actually a really good remix, and Tabi grabs the instrumental and parts of Lykke’s vocals to remix the remix (heh) into a superb effort of his own. Solid raps throughout tell an interesting story of his relationship introspections, with a simple yet captivating video that really pushes the idea of bonding in a relationship.
Very much worth a watch, and a listen. You can grab the entire mixtape this is taken from (for free, of course) from here.

Another artist I don’t know a whole lot about, this is not to be slept on though. A really great song, with some fresh visuals to accompany it.
Sounds like he’s come from this new generation of hipsters, not that there’s anything wrong with that of course. Give the video a watch to the left here, I dare you not to like this track.

If it’s Mick Boogie approved, it’s probably gonna be good. Boasting features and/or production from the likes of GZA, Wale, The Alchemist and more, Tabi could end up being one of those guys who sneaks up out of nowhere and catches hip-hop by surprise.
Not really sure why I feel that way, as I’ve barely heard any material from him, but the strength of the co-signs, the sudden nature of his emergence and a gut feeling lead me to believe that this guy could have some mileage.

I’m not too familiar with Tabi Bonney’s work, but here’s some interesting info on his background:
“His childhood involved moving from continent to continent (including Africa, Europe, and N. America). He attended Florida A&M University where he received two degrees, a masters in Biology and Secondary Education and an undergrad in Biology Pre-Med.”
So he’s certainly no dummy. Collaborating with OTU favourite, Wale – this makes a rather interesting track.
