Damn, this is the definition of smooth right here. Lots of piano helps keep things superbly mellow and it’s exactly this type of instrumental which really suits each emcee’s laid back flows. This is without doubt a track which can be enjoyed by everyone from hardcore hip-hopper to mainstream part-timer and all in between.

Being the world class writers we are, we get sent so much from upcoming emcees that it isn’t always possible to put on everything we get into our inboxes and therefore most of what I get around to listening to is dependent on work-load, recommendations and featured artists. This falls into the later category, I [...]

In order to be a great writer, you have to do a lot of reading. I don’t particularly claim to achieve either of these, but what I do know is that as a feature writer, you never know when inspiration is going to hit you. It’s actually been seven months since my last article. Yet [...]

“Reks’ third offering in the shape of Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme delivers to the underground fan with a range of subject matter, on-point rhymes, lyrical dexterity and Reks’ best selection of beats to date.”
The artist:
Born Corey Isaiah Christie in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Reks dropped out of college to pursue his dream in hip-hop. After taking the [...]

From my favourite album of the year Reks drops us some new visuals for the poignant Cigarettes with M.O.P. stalwart Lil Fame.
Reks and Fame trade verses tackling their addiction to those cancer sticks over Lil Fame’s smooth, delicate board work. The video itself captures that underground struggle we so frequently associate with Reks and helps add a [...]

Latest release from Reks’ upcoming LP Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme dropping March 8th.
Reks tears apart a screechy Alchemist beat, whilst The Ghost’s vocals are always welcome in dragging a joint deep down into the gutter. Certainly a head-nodder this one, but was always going to have to go some to top the lead single.
Go take a [...]

As a big fan of the Lawrence, Massachusetts emcee needless to say I’ve been hankering after this since it was first announced. We’ve already heard the opening track, 25th Hour, with Premo lacing a delicious piano-loop for Reks to spit his trademark razor-sharp, conscious lyricism.
For those as eager as me, you can now preview the album track by [...]
