This week’s episode features some true luminaries of the R&B game, including the emergence of previously-unreleased Nate Dogg material, the first such release since his unfortunate passing earlier this year.
Two posts to catch up on from the week gone by, with the star-studded video for Ne-Yo’s latest single being released, whilst The-Dream supplied visuals of his own for his collaboration with Big Sean from the 1977 album.

New mixtape from DJ Kay Slay which features a whole host of familiar names. From the likes of Raekwon, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Styles P, Papoose, Vado, Maino and Ghostface Killah, we can see a huge New York influence on this mixtape (wouldn’t expect any less from Kay Slay!).

I’m looking forward to this. Jay’s undoubtedly one of the better talents coming out of the West Coast hip-hop game, and has built a good reputation for himself over the last couple of years.
With his debut album due out early next year, this is pretty important material in his progression, so it’ll be interesting to see just how his music is sounding right now. If you’re not accquainted, hopefully this will prove to be a good introduction to his work. Without further ado…

Not a collabo, but instead three tracks for you here that got pushed to the background somewhat over the last day or two, due to the glut of heavyweight material dropped in that period. All good acts that have stepped up from that underground ‘level’ over the last 12 months, they should all be worth giving a go.

Couple of new Tech N9ne bangers for you this morning. Tech has such a unique style which comprises of the most intricate rhyme schemes and I’m surprised others haven’t tried to bite his flows. He has the ability to switch things up in an instant and can effectively spit slower when he wants to force his words home but can also rip apart the bars to create that overwhelming ‘wow’ factor.
The first, with Devin The Dude, is pretty chilled out and totally different from the second with Jay Rock; a high tempo, suitable-for-the-car kinda joint.

25 rappers, I kid you not. So many in fact, I couldn’t add them all into the song title in iTunes! I’ve listed them below, and they can also be found in the ‘description’ section of the track.

Most of y’all should be familiar with the XXL 10 Freshman thing they do. Last year’s was great, and they were pretty much spot on with them all. I can’t say I know as much about 2 or 3 of this year’s 10, but expect a lot from the ones I am familiar with. I do however find the inclusion of OJ Da Juiceman in a ‘serious’ list to be ridiculous (quiet down Tempest!). For those who haven’t yet checked out who’s in this year, click here.
Anyway, this is a mixtape full of new tracks from these guys and will 100% be worth grabbing. Some of these guys are definitely going to blow up this year, so don’t miss out.

Whoever this Kida guy is, he’s mixing it up with some seriously big names in hip-hop. Click below to grab a collaborative homage to the legendary Dr. Dre from some of the West coast’s finest.

No idea who, or what, a Kida is but he’s gone and grabbed some of hip-hop’s biggest and best for a pretty nice track. The track samples the famous ‘Holla!’ from Missy Elliott’s Get Your Freak On, and is a likeable joint. Definitely worth picking up on the strength of the features alone.

Another very dope track from the NBA Live 10 soundtrack. This is an uptempo anthem which will appeal to fans of all genres.
The verses are nicely flowed, and the hook is good too. The production is the winner here though, and just like the track I posted yesterday, is another great upbeat jam. What a soundtrack this is shaping up to be!
See below for the download link, as well as another awesome track from the NBA Live 10 OST from the super-dope Murs, which features Kurupt and Jay Rock.
