Jay Burna-Lamborghini Dreams, Beach House Wishes

Every now and again somebody comes along who grabs your attention, Jay Burna is one of those artists for me. I posted one of his tracks a month or so ago here (grab it if you haven’t already!) This is a record for his fans whilst he works on his new mixtape Chosen One , which is set to be dropped 11/01/11.

The hook is sampled from Wiz Khalifa’s B.A.R., and Burna goes in hard on this, taking a slightly more aggressive approach to the record than he normally does. Khalifa spits on B.A.R that the ‘Lamborghini Dreams, Beach House Wishes ain’t new to him’, whereas Burna has gone in the opposite direction stating that this is what he dreams of. If he carries on like this it won’t be too long before he has the Lambo parked on the drive of his beach house. (Exaggerating much? Possibly, but I’m expecting big things from this guy).

Jay Burna-Death of Yesterday

This is set to feature on a 7 track mixtape from Cali based MC, Jay Burna (the name of which is still to be decided). It samples Marvin Gaye’s (much better) cover of the Beetles Yesterday, which makes it seem like a perfect chilled out track for a Sunday morning post! I wasn’t really familiar with Burna before this, but it’s a very solid hip-hop track which gets better with every listen, and I’ll certainly be looking out for the mixtape. Have yourself a listen now.
