Classified-That Ain't Classy

New Classified single off the Canadian emcee’s upcoming album Handshakes & Middle Fingers which hits stores & iTunes on March 22nd.

As with all Class joints, this one has that signature crisp production, yet erring slightly more on the electro side than previous efforts. Although Class switches his flow up to great effect with some double-time raps and textbook multi-syllabic delivery, lyrically That Ain’t Classy presents nothing particularly groundbreaking which smacks of lead single type stuff, but of course, and most importantly, real replay value here.

Knowing Classified’s work, I will definitely be checking out the album on 22nd March and fans of conscious emcees such as Brother Ali, Tonedeff, Zion I or even Atmosphere will certainly want to keep an eye out for this. Still need convincing? His best work here.

Quick Throwback: Classified-Inspiration

In this day and age it’s becoming harder and harder to find a piece of music which makes your neck hairs stand up on end.

I found this on Classified’s 2009 album Self Explanatory and not only are the lyrics startlingly sad from the Canada-born emcee Classified, but delivered in such a sincere, almost apologetic way.

Take 2:33 out of your life to listen and you’ll be thanking me for a fantastic little piece of hip-hop here.

“I inspired Phil? Nah, Phil inspired me / To finish up my song over top of Philip’s beat.”
