Now THIS is what I’m talking about. First drop from AZ’s Doe Or Die II (As summer is officially here in Barcelona, I’ve been bumping the original a lot recently) and it sounds gooood. This is more of a ‘shout out’ track and wouldn’t surprise me if it ended up at the end of the LP, [...]

Here’s a couple of random O.C. joints which I’ve picked up across my Internet journey this evening.
The first is a remix of Buckwild’s Born 2 Live which replaces those famous slay-bells and piano chords with a more intense drum pattern and almost spacey aurora tied together with a somewhat clumsy Nas sample. I prefer Buck’s original.
The second is [...]

Now that I’ve finally got my hands on Buckwild’s latest release of 90′s gems, here is my favourite from the EP. The A-Side features joints recorded or remixed in 2009/2010 so understandably there’s a few pieces left out from Celph Titled/Buck’s Nineteen Ninety Now and there’s the classic remix to Kool G Rap/Nas’ Fast Life over on [...]

As expected from anything with Rugged Man in, here we’ve got some crazy visuals from Celph/Buckwild’s Nineteen Ninety Now.
Interesting way to do the video, with mini-interviews from all parties separating each verse from the track.
Audio here.

Fresh off his iconic Nineteen Ninety Now project with Celph Titled, Buckwild adds a favourable tinge to the 1995 classic collaboration between two New York giants.
The lyricism is out of this world as we witness two greats of the game go back and forth. However, the original beat often leaves a lot to be desired and sounds [...]

One of my favourites from Celph Titled and Buckwild’s brilliant collaboration Nineteen Ninety Now.
“RZA rocking all the beats/SEGA with the Altered Beast/wasn’t safe to walk the streets with Jordan sneakers on ya feet!”

While the foundations of Nineteen Ninety Now sit firmly in their self-titled era, the freshness of Celph Titled and Buckwild’s innovation manage to deliver a 2010 gem to be savoured by old-school and underground heads alike.
Raekwon really has started something. It now seems as if everyone wants to rekindle Golden Age hip-hop again. And who am I to [...]
