Birdman - Y.U. Mad ft. Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne

A lineup, photo and track that will have both Murray and Chris ready to launch a laptop at the wall…just forget this post ever existed lads.

For the rest of you mainstream lovers though this is a track that you’ll enjoy for sure. Nicki kick-starts the track with the first verse of hers that I haven’t found annoying since Kanye’s Monster. With a hard-hitting beat, Lil’ Wayne has no issues with providing a verse that closes off a song that will sound good in your car. Just try and ignore the Birdman verse in the middle of the song for the good of your health.

DJ Khaled-Welcome To My Hood (Remix) ft. Ludacris, T-Pain, Busta Rhymes, Mavado, Twista, Birdman, Ace Hood, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Bun B, Game & Waka Flocka

Is this the longest title we’ve ever seen on OTU? It’s certainly up there! DJ Khaled enlists a plethora of rappers to take on the remix of his recent(ish) single, Welcome To The Hood.

I can’t be the only one, but I’m pretty tired of these remixes by him where he just sticks a load of guest verses on it and expects a hit. Having said that I really wanted to hear the Game verse on this and thus had to check it out. I’m also pretty sure there’s a lot of you out there who still lap this stuff up, so who am I to hate on it?

Summary: I don’t like this and I didn’t like the original either, you might though.

Birdman & Lil Wayne-Fire Flame Remix [Video]

Here is the first official video from Lil’ Wayne since being released from prison.

Not a bad video by any means, has that large Young Money feel to it that’s been missing from hip hop videos for a while now. Although there’s a reason for that, it’s a little played out. That’s not a slight on Lil’ Wayne as I happen to enjoy a fair amount of his music, I just have very little love for Birdman.

I didn’t post the audio for this when it dropped as I felt that whilst it was a song that might sound good (in your car, for example) for a short while, it’d also get very annoying/boring after a few listens. I felt I was right in that matter, but if you really want the audio, you can get it by clicking here.

Sunday's Classic Collabo: Part II

This track is only around a year old, however i’m 99% sure that 95% of you lovely people missed this the 1st time round. The definition of classic to me in one word is ‘timeless’ and the fact I can still listen to this track a year later and still enjoy it, despite absolutely rinsing it, to me makes this a classic.

DJ Yoda is someone you may or may not have heard of, he created this absolute monster of a track (over 9 minutes long!) and it features a plethora of rappers, from OTU favourites, Maino, Lupe Fiasco, Lil’ Wayne, to rappers you’ve (I’ve) never heard of like Hunt & Wes Fif.

Anyway enough talking, click below to grab this immense track, you know I’m a sucker for a good beat.

(btw, the track says that Kardinal Offishall is on this but he isn’t – I forgot to delete that before uploading and I quite simply cannot be bothered to upload it again!)

Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne and Birdman

A trio to make any fan of lyrical hip-hop cringe.

This is expected to be on Officer Ricky’s upcoming Teflon Don. It goes without saying that I haven’t checked it out, and I’m in no hurry to do so.

Fly Gypsy and Cash Money

Fly Gypsy just get better and better. They remix Birdman/Cash Money’s soon-to-be smash hit I Want It All, and frankly do better than the original. Birdman was pretty sh*t on the track (and generally), and Kom adds his own fast-paced and well-stacked verses to replace them (which is a favour to us all really).

Alexei has made a couple of smart additions to the beat too, which adds a little more depth to the production. Comes 100% recommended by me to be honest. This is from the upcoming FG*XL:remixtape, which is set to drop in March.

Kevin Rudolf, Jay Sean, Lil’ Wayne and Birdman

Cash Money’s big hitters all huddle up together for a single. Wayne, his rock-minded buddy, his token Asian friend and a half-pigeon half-man collaborate for Kevin’s new single.

It’s not too bad to be fair, and I generally don’t mind Kevin’s material at all.  It’s nothing particularly original, but certainly worth listening to and it could be a whole lot worse as far as mainstream music goes. Will probably grow on me too.

Drake/Birdman Collab

drakebird
Honesty is the name of the game here, so here goes: I’m kinda liking this track. Birdman is terrible once more, but I’m really liking this beat and I can’t figure out why. Drake is OK on this, and some of his lines are pretty nice to be fair. But this beat is addictive. So addictive. This leaked earlier in the week and was thought to be a Drake track, but is actually a Birdman song. Not sure if it’s on Priceless.

Back to regularly scheduled programming. Not sure what to drop first on here, so we’ll ease you back from R&B Friday with some new Jay Sean tracks.

Before you hit the click below, congratulations to Jay for going to #1 on the US singles charts with Down. That’s a great accomplishment, and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. I’ve been (rightfully) critical of him at times, but you can’t deny the guy his success: he dropped a killer single and got rewarded for it.

Birdman, Drake and Lil’ Wayne

Can’t say I like this track a great deal as Birdman is nothing short of terrible and I’m getting bored of Wayne, but the beat is alright and it’s probably going to be an absolute smash. Check the video out here.
