Some of these have sat in my inbox over the past few days, some have just hit the Internets today. The pick of the bunch has to be that 50/Jada collaboration; with the one time foes teaming up for some New York heat. I’ve also dropped the new Big L single from his upcoming posthumous Return Of The Devil’s Son, but not only are the vocals recycled (Danger Zone), but the beat isn’t original either (O.C. – Jewelz).

Throwback Thursdays Vol 38

Whilst the self-proclaimed kings of New York were battling it out for the throne, attention had turned to the underground where the streets were going crazy for the hip-hop supergroup Diggin’ In The Crates crew.

In early 1990 Lord Finesse brought together some of the most talented producers, DJ’s and MC’s in the game who would later become one of the most respected hip-hop group’s of all time. Diamond D, Showbiz, A.G., O.C., Buckwild, Fat Joe and finally Big L one-by-one eventually teamed up to form the legendary D.I.T.C.

Throwback Thursdays Vol 13

Big L, like Pun and BIG, was taken from us before we were able to appreciate his full force on the mic. As mentioned last week, L is considered by many as one of the finest to enter the booth and this week’s throwback shows him at his best.

Handpicked (believe me, it was hard choosing a single track) from his debut LP Lifestylez Ov Da Poor N Dangerous (1995), All Black is a hard-hitting, sucker-punch track which L does his due course in tearing apart.
