Final Version of Alors on Danse Remix

Final, mastered and dirty version (yep, swear words!) of the remix previously posted here. Love the original, love the remix, and its great to have the final version. A couple more tweaks to the production too, which are very good as they add more solidity and structure.

Stromae, Kanye West and Gilbere Forte-Alors on Danse Remix

When we first heard this song in South Africa, it was simply a comedy track as we thought he was singing ‘I Love Dogs’. Flashforward a month and it’s one of the biggest dance tracks around, getting regular radio airplay and now has Kanye West jumping on a remix. Incredible!

I love hearing ‘Ye do these remixes. He used to jump on these sort of tracks around the times of Graduation, and it’s superb to see him doing it again-there’s nothing like getting a ‘Ye verse on some good club music! His verses are very good additions to the track, and his flow is adapted nicely without sacrificing the memorability of his rhymes.

The beat is largely the same, with a couple of minor additions (additional percussion on the verses being the main one), and it retains Stromae’s ridiculously addictive hook throughout. Enjoying Gilbere’s verse on this a lot too, and overall it’s one of the best remixes I’ve heard in recent times, although probably because the original was so damn good! I’m so happy.

I'm Back...And I'm Bringing The House Down

Can you believe its been 3 weeks since I’ve been here? After cultivating the global reputation of OTU in South Africa, I’ve come back bearing house music. African House is a sound that definitely rubbed off on us whilst out there, although I’m kicking off with a French House track that was played on one of their local music TV channels.

I won’t lie, this track was loved by us originally just because it sounds like he’s singing ‘I love dogs’. However, repeat listening since being back home has made this track a pretty likeable one for the right reasons. The beat is frighteningly addictive, with lashing of techno and a heavy horn riff that will be stuck in your head for days. The video is pretty funny too. Even though you’ll have no idea what he’s saying (unless you speak French…) this is definitely a track that could cause some feet to move in your local club.
