Two of France’s finest dance exports get together for a song from the upcoming film Rubber, as Mr. Oizo and Gaspard of Justice come together for a decent track. Before we get into the review, who remembers this classic video? Flat Eric is my hero!
It’s a shame this track isn’t longer, as it is very good. It opens up with a driving, intense melody of powerful synths that are complimented ably by a speedy yet serene drum loop. The track tones things down towards the middle for what sounds like an aerobics sample (!), but picks up brilliantly afterwards with a jovial, uptempo production that is immeasurably enhanced by its juxtaposition with the opening melody. Incredibly diverse, and in such a short period.
