Who doesn’t need a hammer in your recording studio?!
Actual factual new music I’m delivering here, well just about anyway. Released recently is the new EP from Jamestown Story entitled A Collection of Covers, and unsurprisingly the album is covers.
Owl City, remember him?! Ajay got in the mix originally here and the Murr Dog posted a Crooked I freestyle over Fireflies, lets hope he managed to straighten up his I after this event. Must be traumatic for him. The track below is a cover of Owl City’s The Saltwater Room, and they do a pretty good job of it. Get your download on and enjoy this acoustic delight. I’ve also added the orignal… because I can!!!

If you’ve heard the original by some new artist Ajay likes, then this will be pretty weird to you. With that track Crooked did with/over Sally Anthony we upped a few weeks back, it is evident he isn’t afraid to take on any beat. Commercial or underground. Pop or hip-hop.
He kills this, but whether it is a freestyle or not as the track states, I am sceptical.
Crooked I – Fireflies Freestyle

I’d literally never heard of this guy before 10 minutes ago. Apparently, he’s scored a #1 hit worldwide with a track called Fireflies, which shows you how little attention I pay to mass media music outlets. Go me, ever the rebel.
Anyway, I came across this track Vanilla Twilight today and quite liked it. He’s got a synthpop/electronica/indie hybrid sound which is pretty easy listening. I’ll be looking to check out his other material, and I think a lot of people will surprise themselves if they give this a go. Those of you who have dabbled with alternative music before will find this really easy to get into. Imagine a whole city of owls. Scary sh*t.
