Next up, N*E*R*D come through with their own short introspection, and again it’s very intriguing viewing.
One thing that really comes across here is the value they place on breaking boundaries, which is extremely refreshing to see in an industry full of autocracy. They seem to apply those beliefs to their music and their fanbase, which opens your eyes to their seemingly-genuine love for the music game. A very interesting look on how creative and appreciative even the biggest bands can be.

The original was pretty good, and having recently stumbled upon the potential of Mansions on the Moon, it’s fair to say I met this with great excitement. Sadly, MotM don’t contribute any vocals, but they do rework the mellow effort into a more psychedlic electro style that works just as well as the original. Lots of thumping bass and lengthy synths at a high tempo works to really alter the feel of the track, and certainly makes for an enjoyable remix.

Final leak we’re posting from the upcomng N*E*R*D album Nothing.
A version of this leaked back in August, but without T.I. and with a generally unfinished sound. This one sharpens up the production to really emphasise the melodies, which sound very similar to the early N*E*R*D material/Neptunes beats. That’s most definitely a good thing, as the bouncy, uptempo fusion style is a sound that remains exclusive to these guys, so it’s good to get as much of it as possible. Short contribution from Tip: it makes no real difference as the highlight is the infectious energy Pharrell’s vocals exude, which remain as catchy as ever.

Not only is it always good getting new music from Pharrell, Shay, and Hugo, but when it’s a rare Daft Punk production things step up to another level of good..ness. It’s a surprisingly mellow track though, given that a combination of Punk and N*E*R*D would assumedly result in some huge dance anthem.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing at all, as it still has that distinctive Daft Punk sound and style to the beat in the futuristic, lengthened melodies. Pharrell’s inimitable vocals add the Neptunes feel and weave with the production fantastically well, creating a track that sounds like it could have made Daft Punk’s classic Discovery album quite easily, and does genuinely create the hypnotising feel the title suggests.

I’ve never been big on Taylor Swift, but this is a fantastic performance of her new song…about Kanye West. Click below to see a few other performances by Drake, Swizz Beatz, Mary J. Blige, Usher, N*E*R*D, Ciara as well as a superb fitting finale by Kanye West who also performs a brand new song (not to be missed).
Eminem opened the show with a great performance alongside Rihanna, which I’ll have to post later when I find a working link for those, as well as B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams performance together and an amazing Linkin Park offering!

Sorry for being AWOL this evening, football-related antics and all.
Nice to get some new bars from Asher. Great selection of track too, as this is exactly the type of beat that suits his chilled out style, as it offers a likeable energetic contrast. Just the one verse on this, but definitely one that refreshes the original for those of you who fancied a bit of a change. Looking forward to some more remixes of both this track, and from Asher.

Turns out the live video wasn’t the official video after all.
Liking this one a lot, as N*E*R*D bring their typical colour, style, energy and fun to every aspect. Utilising as much colour as possible, they make the video a rare combination of fun-loving and slick. Definitely does justice to the song.
Audio is here.

In anticipation of their hugely-hyped fourth album Nothing (set for release on the 15th of June), N.E.R.D have released the details of two upcoming shows in June; with London’s HMV Forum and the Manchester Academy the venues for the two massively anticpated gigs…
Tickets for the shows themselves go on sale on the 7th of May, and with all of the hype surrounding their recent movements, they probably won’t last too long, so make sure you know where to get yours by clicking HERE..

The track only dropped on Saturday, but we’ve already got the video! Haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but from what I did catch it looked like a pretty energetic video.
I do like the track having given it a couple of listens (audio can be accquired here), and I’m looking forward to see where they go with the next album.

Can you believe She Wants To Move was released over half a decade ago? Can you believe how long the title of the post is?
There’s a good chance that you missed a star-studded remix of this, which features pretty much all of the best jazz/soul rappers ever. If you miss it this time, you need your head examined.
