This is a definite must-have for fans of electro, dance, uptempo and even dubstep music. This is a 53-track (!) mixtape made up of short tracks (only 2/3 are over 2mins long) which are mainly comprised of electro remixes of hip-hop tracks. There is a lot of variety though, with artists ranging from Wiley, Trey Songz and Crookers to Drake, La Roux, Rusko and many more.
Definitely something worth throwing on in a party rotation. If you’re using it for that purpose, you can actually download the whole thing as one long track, which is probably the best way to listen to it. For those of you who want it seperated, that version is below too.

In what can best be described as a fitting coincidence given the retrospective nature of this particular post, 2009 was very much a year of hindsight. I rediscovered artists I’d neglected, I discovered artists who I’d simply ignored, but most importantly I began to see the fundamental flaw in my appreciation of music (especially hip-hop) and how I probably got it wrong.
Don’t make the same mistakes. Click on to grab some unmissable tracks, and of course my discoveries from the year gone by. I’ve thrown in a couple of lists too, as I know some of you can’t deal with excess reading.

Mike Posner drops his long-awaited first official video, for the track that’s steadily gaining heat: Drug Dealer Girl. Those of you who’ve followed Mike along with myself will be very familiar with this track, from his first mixtape almost a year ago.
It’s a great track, and a testament to his rising buzz that he managed to get Rosa Acosta to play the lead role in the video. Hopefully this will give him that final boost into the public eye.
Cheers to Nikul for spotting this one!

Hey Champ put an electro spin on Mike Posner’s Cooler Than Me, from his debut mixtape A Matter of Time. Pretty decent remix and worth grabbing.

Episode 3 of Mike Posner’s web series has dropped on the heels of his mixtape release. This episode has a look at the making of the mixtape.

Despite being unable to move from my bed, here goes my second brilliant post of the day. Posner’s latest mixtape has been dropped, and is worth picking up for fans of any style of music. His first mixtape, released in March, was unlike anything I’d ever heard before (and you can pick it up for free from iTunes here), so it will be interesting to see how he has progressed. UPDATE: This mixtape is absolutely awesome. Everyone needs to own this.

Episode 1 of One Foot Out The Door for you all to enjoy, after the trailer we brought you on Monday.

Pretty nice video here to kick off Monday. It’s a trailer for Posner’s upcoming web series, as well as the upcoming mixtape.
It’s only just over a minute long so is worth watching, especially as the new song in the background sounds awesome!

Blame Google for that one.
Random bits of music news that I couldn’t sprinkle elsewhere:
-Chris Brown’s next single is set to be Transformer, and will feature Lil’ Wayne and be produced by Swizz Beatz.
-Mike Posner’s next mixtape, One Foot Out The Door, is due for release on October 29th.
-Fabolous, Ryan Leslie and Ne-Yo are working on an as yet-untitled collaborative project/album.
