Hmm. We had the ‘original’ Lupe version of Nothin’ On You a little under a year ago (which in hindsight, I was very kind on), and now another ‘original demo’ of one of B.o.B’s chart-busting hits appears. Two prevalent thoughts here really: Firstly, Atlantic really wanted these songs out there (and rightfully so, it seems). Secondly, considering how mainstream-focused Lasers ended up being, Lupe seriously lost in not keeping these songs (as well as this one) for himself.
Ignoring how overplayed Airplanes has become, in isolation there’s no denying it’s the sort of contemplative, melodic song Lupe can really turn into something special with intelligent raps, and his verses certainly prove that idea to be true. Grab it and see if you agree: at worst, you’ll have a nice refresh of a previously-overplayed song!
I’m not usually one for mashups at all (I say this every time…) but recently there have been some stellar remixes popping up.
This one blends B.o.B and Hayley Williams’ Airplanes (though it only retains Hayley’s vocals) with Kanye and Lupe’s Touch The Sky verses. Definitely worth a look. Not sure if it’s better than the recent mix with The xx, but that’s not a bad thing as it’s going to take something special to top that!
As I said earlier, Eminem opened up the show with a probably the best performance of Not Afraid I’ve seen him do, he’s then joined by Rihanna to perform their massive single, Love The Way You Lie.

Many laughs to be had. The now-infamous Bed Intruder song (can you believe it’s in the Billboard Top 100?!) is given a short makeover by Paramore’s Hayley Williams, New Found Glory’s Jordan Pundik and Ethan Luck of Reliant K.

Your eyes aren’t decieving you. I did originally post this on Tuesday, but apparently that was a ‘leak’ and not an official video release.
Props to B. Rich for coming through with the official premiere for everyone to enjoy. Looking forward to finally being able to give this a watch, I’ll update with my thoughts later today.
Here’s the deal: A few tracks have leaked from the album in the last few days, but I’m not dropping them. However, I will give you this one for three reasons:
1. I only let you stream pt. 1
2. I cruelly teased you with a snippet
3. I guarantee this will make you want to go get that album next week to get the final, higher quality version of the track
Guess what? This track is absolutely awesome. More sombre than the original, the beat has a couple of switches, whilst Hayley’s hook is still incredible and Bobby’s changed his verses to good effect too.
…Oh right, the Eminem verse? Yeah, it’s pretty awesome. As if you expected anything less, you chump.
Part 1 was crazy (can be previewed here), and you know having Em on part 2 is bloody awesome. Just a snippet for you to preview below, not the full thing yet, but enjoy that for now. Sounds really different to part 1.
More coming sooner than you think.
B.o.B – Airplanes pt. 2 ft. Eminem & Hayley Williams (snippet)
Eagle-eyed readers will have spotted me sneaking this artwork in earlier today. I’m not allowed to give you the .mp3 for this yet (sorry!), but I can provide you with a stream of the track below. The problem: you’re going to love the track so much, you’re going to hate me for not sharing the download. Hayley Williams does an incredible job on the hook, and B.o.B/the beat are just as good.
The scary bit? Part 2 of this track features Eminem. Awesomeness overload. I am so, so excited for this album.
