From Royce’s upcoming Bar Exam 3 mixtape, this has these three hip-hop heavyweights rhyming over T.I.’s I’m Back. They all deliver and drop some nice verses, which you’d expect from these veterans. The final version will apparently have the other two Slaughterhouse members adding verses too. For now though, enjoy this version.

Budden takes a spin on the awesome Alicia Keys track. His flow is good on this, and he definitely uses the instrumental well. His subject matter probably doesn’t quite match with the original track at times, but I suppose it doesn’t matter as he’s only using the beat. Good one, and I’d like to see more rappers take this beat on.

So here’s the deal. This is the stuff that I couldn’t fit into the last episode, but as I’ve got so much new material to post today (and I’m feeling lazy/tired), I’m foregoing my usual track-by-track analysis and just posting up the links.
Pick off what you want, and be prepared for an absolute massive R&B Friday this week. Why? Because I have about 150 tracks for it already. Yes, you read that right. Goodbye life.

Another video/audio double for you, this one being from Joell’s upcoming album. This is a great track, with a fantastic Premo production setting up Ortiz nicely to lay down some great raps. Joell’s been on fire the last 6 months or so, and this is another good one from him.
More Slaughterhouse-related goodies coming today too.

The video is a promo for the track that you can grab below. It’s pretty good viewing actually, and suggests the two of them may work on a full-length project together.
The track itself is pretty good, with a nice chilled beat and some good rhymes/flows from both artists. One to check out for fans of either.

Quick one from me, as I’ve got plenty of stuff to be posting today. Watched the first minute or so of this, and it looks like a pretty interesting video for the track from his OB4CL2 album.

Another nice club track which features a rather addictive chorus by singer/songwriter Sean Garrett. I’ve had this one on repeat for the past 20 mins or so, so you don’t need me to tell you it’s good.

Cracking track this, I don’t really need to comment on this too much – if you’re a fan of good beats, tracks to play loud in the car/at home etc and you don’t pick this up, then you’re a tool.
This isn’t your generic club track either, there’s something really different about Dirty Money which I can’t quite put my finger on, Diddy is on to a winner here.
EDIT: Actually written by Notorious Indi, but showing up as me (Ajay-182). Just to confirm.

So, I’ve held off on doing one of these as I wanted to do a non-rap ‘beef’, but couldn’t think of one. I’m officially an idiot, as it was this very fallout that gave me some of my favourite music ever.
Seeing as Blink are back in the headlines for being confirmed as Reading/Leeds headliners, it seems even more appropriate to take this week’s HITNL in that direction. Amidst the joy of their reunion, many people don’t/didn’t really know the ugly history of the years between the Blink break-up and reunion. Click on for a little lot of info, and of course some tracks to enjoy from the fallout.

Been waiting for this to drop for a while, as I’ve been enjoying the audio for quite some time. The track is beginning to blow up (thank us later Ush) and I’m pleased as it is a good one.
Whether you’re a fan of the early version audio or this newer version, the video is really good and it’s classic Usher with plenty of dancing and light effects. Pretty sure it’s 3D too.

Very interesting one. There’s a pretty good backstory to this one which you can read in full at 88-Keys’ place here. Small excerpt below:
“I turned over this remix rather fast but never finished it because I couldn’t come up with a hook for it. I played it for Kanye & he liked this a lot. So much, in fact, that he was going to reach out to Brandy to lay a hook down on this. Unfortunately for me, Common didn’t feel this half as much as ‘Ye did. So I got the word back from Common & Derek (his management) while they were in Japan that they were going to pass on it. It’s cool though. They are all still my brothers. No love lost. I only hated him for like 5 minutes. *ha*”.

Drake takes up B.o.B’s old release date (now moved to April 27) of May 25th for the release of his debut effort, Thank Me Later. The album will include features from Jay-Z, Kanye and more.
Over is doing fairly well in the US charts right now, and a video is set to be released soon. Check out The Dream-assisted Shut It Down too, which is probably going to be the bigger/more pushed single of the two.

Who saw this collabo coming?!
Great one though, and it has that classic Keane sound with some really worthwhile additions from K’naan. Definitely one worth checking out, as it’s a good song and it’s a really good video too.

Have a guess what type of track this is?
Another club one from these two, and it’s definitely going to be another big one. Flo Rida usually flips some old school sample, this time half-using the classic Eurythmics track Sweet Dreams for the first single from his upcoming The Only One album. It’s pretty standard Flo/Pain-big beat, pretty aimless lyrics and such. Grab it if you like his other stuff, as this will slide right in.

One for the dance/pop fans to check out for sure. Newcomer (to me, at least) Sariah serves up a catchy slice of electro-pop, with a couple of pretty good remixes too. Have a listen, as I’ve got a feeling these tracks could find there way into a club near you soon.
No free downloads for you on this one, but you can grab ‘em here for 79p per track (and basically cherrypick the better ones). I’m sure you’re not struggling that hard to stump up 79 pennies.

The Jeezy/USDA collabo has been given the visual works, much like the recent Cudi vid, this also primarily uses backstage and on stage footage, but it also uses a pretty cool split screen effect too, to show them rapping to the song. Audio can ‘get got’ from here.

Moving images for Kelis’ newest single. Haven’t watched this yet, but I didn’t mind the audio when it dropped way back when (swackers, head here to grab it), so I expect I’ll give it a look over eventually.
Insert Nas/Kelis divorce joke here.

A few news outlets are reporting that Kanye’s next album will feature production/assistance from RZA, Pete Rock and Q-Tip. There’s been a lot of talk that it’s going to be a ‘real rap’ album, and hopefully it’s true. The rumoured artists above add to that belief, and I’m looking forward to hearing some new stuff from it.
My prediction? Look for the first single/leak to drop by the summer.

For US readers, this remix is in the Baltimore club genre. For UK fans, this one is probably like a toned-down electro style.
It’s good though, and I do quite like it. I’ve never been one for over-the-top electro beats, but I do like uptempo stuff so this fits the bill nicely.

This video is nothing short of magnificent. Must-watch for everyone.
I’ve been liking this song for some time, as it’s so chilled out and mellow it’s practically perfect to listen to any time. If you’re seeing this after a heavy night, watch this and you’ll find it really easygoing.
The video is utterly brilliant. I won’t ruin it, but it’s such a departure from what I expected from the audio and is possibly a contender for video of the year so far. It’s so, so simple which leaves it wonderously open to interpretation. Great job that will inevitably be hugely underrated.

This is usually Murray’s lane, but I think he’s travelling at some point this weekend so I’ll step in on it.
This is a track recorded by Mobb Deep’s Prodigy over the phone, whilst still incarcerated. No matter what, that’s pretty dope and I’m not sure many other rappers would show that sort of dedication. It doesn’t really come any more legit than recording from prison, and Prodigy drops some decent rhymes on this. One for the real hip-hop heads.

I haven’t written a feature in a while, so let’s do one I’ve been thinking about for a while. Narrow-minded folk, go elsewhere, this isn’t for you. Go and put some mindless crap on repeat and have a nice evening.
Most of you will know I pretty much worship these guys. However, unless you know me quite well, you won’t know why. If you care, read on. If you don’t, I won’t hold it against you.

Fans of the recent Budden leaks will love this. The first drop from the upcoming Mood Muzik 4 mixtape, Budden takes on a pretty hard beat and drops some nice rhymes. He touches on a range of topics, including the Tahiry thing, and does a good job throughout. Definitely another one the Budden fans will be enjoying a lot.

Niiiice. I’ve never hidden my love for the Rihanna version, and adding some nice rhymes from one of my favourite rappers of recent years is always a good thing. I would have liked this to be slightly longer, and maybe added Rih’s verses back in after, but I can’t complain: it’s Wale rhyming over a dope beat/catchy hook, it’s all good!

This was definitely one of the strongest tracks from Kelly’s recent Unitled album. It’s a really enjoyable uptempo track that R&B/pop fans will definitely want to check out.
The video is pretty much just live footage but does have plenty of scantily-clad women, so it’s probably worth a look. Definitely have a listen to the audio at least though.

50 tracks. I had to plough through 50 tracks this week! Expect a part 2 post in the next few days as a result.
The crazy thing is that pretty much all of the tracks are from really big name artists, which makes this episode (and the sequel) pretty stacked at 22 tracks each (5/6 of the tracks were poor, hence a 44 total!).
Lloyd, Keri, Leona, R-Les, and many more are all waiting for you after the click. There’s some real quality in here (especially from Johnta and Lloyd) and this is possibly the best episode ever, so be sure to check this one out whether you’re a new fan or a regular.

As above, this is the final version of their collab. I liked this track when it initially leaked, and this version has a couple of little additions/quality improvements which make it worth getting if you enjoyed the original.
Keep an eye out for today’s R&B Friday, it’s going to be absolutely packed.
