“Look Up In The Sky…”

Finally.

Much has changed, and much is yet to change. Enjoy the revamps and upgrades etc. There are plenty more to come: there are a few tricks up my sleeve yet to be revealed. If there’s a certain feature you’d like to see/would find useful, let me know in the comments.  (For example, I’ve toyed with the idea of an in-built music player: Yes or no?)

Any other issues with the site you have, please let me know. At the moment, the site doesn’t seem to be working properly in Firefox, so for now, keep it to Internet Explorer. For those of you with iPhones/Blackberries: This should work without a problem on there, as I’ve configured it to do so. If it doesn’t, let me know what/which areas didn’t look right.

Right. With that out of the way, let’s address something you’ve wondered for the last couple of minutes: Why did I pick a picture of Lupe Fiasco? Well…Click the below to find out.

It seems that Lupe felt as though timing the release of his new track, Shining Down Featuring Matthew Santos,  would fit nicely with the return of Overrating the Underrated. Isn’t he nice?

Onto the track itself: A superb comeback after over 18 months without any new music from Lupe. Matthew Santos grabs you with his echoing, powerful vocals right from the off, giving the song that massive, arena-style feel about it. The production is on point, being relaxed, unobtrusive and catchy simultaneously, giving you the feel that this song will fit the (hopefully!) nice weather coming soon. Lupe’s rhymes are as sharp as ever, albeit a bit hard to catch initially. He seems to be rapping slightly different to what we’re used to, but this could just be unfamiliarity after 18 months with no Lupe. A definite highlight is the mocking use of AutoTune in the second verse.

Key point here though-this is NOT the finished version of the track.

Download the track below, and fire away and discuss in the comments section. Shout if the link gets taken down and I’ll get a new one up.

Lupe Fiasco Ft. Matthew Santos-Shining Down.

UPDATE: I’ve been asked to take the track down by FNF representatives, as Lupe wasn’t happy with the track being leaked. Apparently, his email got hacked and someone illegally distributed the track. I’m sure you all understand. Apparently though, the wait for the new version will be worth it!

Be the first to like.
